Owner description: Water doesn't get much more mysterious than this 23 mile stretch running through the Great Glen in the Highlands of Scotland. There's no better way to experience Loch Ness than by boat. Jacobite's award winning tours and cruises get you onto the water and into the heart of this iconic landscape. This is a whole lot more than simply sight-seeing. We've been running trips on and around Loch Ness for over 30 years and most of us live here.

This tour is must if you are ever in the Highland Capital of Scotland Inverness. We took four Canadian guests on the trip, and they just loved it to bits. The tour starts in Inverness, where you board the boat. Buses run from the centre of town to the boarding point at Tomnahurich bridge. The trip down the Canal, is just so enchanting/relaxing, and the crew are very freindly and helpful. However, I would advise that you take your own refreshments/picnic, as the choice on board is not that good. Also, on the top deck you also have to watch out for the exhaust fumes of the boat - stay well forward - or find a good spot on the lower deck. Emerging from the canal onto the Lock itself reveals some awesome/spectacular backdrops, but the scenery for the entire trip is amazing. Landing on the Loch edge at the castle gives folk a real sense of history - albeit don't expect to get any Nessie souvenirs at the Castle shop - surprisingly, they don't have any??? .... we had to go back to Inverness to get them. The bus trip on the way back is also very nice, and the lass who was driving the bus was very cheerful and informative.
Don't pass it up, and take a raincoat with you just in case.

A 4 hour bus tour with good sites to see!
The Tour took us to Loch Ness harbor where we took a boat ride in Loch Ness to dock at Urquhart Castle to take pictures of the loch and the historical castle. Next stop was for all monster lovers at a museum dedicated to the deadliest female specie Nessie - the Loch Ness monster!

Our driver/guide was Sandy a very entertaining lady who had wit, charm and history at her finger tips.

The tickets can be bought at a stall near the Inverness Bus Station Information. Enjoy!

Dear Reviewer, the team at Jacobite are delighted to hear you enjoyed your experience with us, even though Nessie was a bit shy on the day.

We took the Jacobite "Passion" tour and cruise from Inverness. This tour picks you up in Inverness for a six and a half hour trip. First you travel by coach to the Corrimony cairn. That's good, but the Clava cairns near Culloden are better.
The coach is good, but doesn't offer a lot of leg room for people over 6 foot tall. I felt rather closed in and my knees started to hurt. Luckily you don't spend a lot of time in the coach, because the next stop is the Loch Ness exhibition centre where there's plenty time to see the exhibition. Then a short ride to Urquhart castle, where you get a lot of time to look around.
The last stage is the cruise on Loch Ness and the Caledonian canal, to Tomnahurich bridge, from where a red double decker bus takes you back to Inverness city centre.
The Loch Ness cruise is absolutely wonderful. You spend about an hour on the Loch and half an hour on the Canal. Loch Ness is stunning and the best way to experience it is from the water.
The ship (Jacobite Queen) is old but looks great and offers a comfortable 'ride'. There are plenty of seats inside and outside, and there is food and drink for sale.
I'd love to take the cruise again but next time I'll skip the coach part.

Dear Reviewer, thank you so much for taking the time to give us some positive feedback. We're sorry to hear the coach proved slightly restricting, but pleased you enjoyed the Passion tour nonetheless.

I was appalled at how their crew members treat guests. One girl named Dawn was so incredibly rude. She shouted at passengers as they were boarding....being impatient and nasty with the couple ahead of us and then with me. Then at the coffee station she was again rude and insulting as I tried to understand what types of coffee they were serving. Clearly she does not understand customer service. It ruined our one hour with Jacobite. Not a good experience.

We spent wonderful time on board of Jacobite Warrior during 1-hour cruise from Clansman Hotel and back. As we were family with two little children (2 and 5 yo), we were little affraid of security, etc. but in fact it was great fun for everybody including little guy. Tickets for us all were 36 pounds or something. Even weather was really cloudy we took amazing pictures. They have a cafe on board serving hot/cold drinks and cookies. As an option you may buy 2 hours trip including 1 hour spent in area of Urquhart Castle ruins. Toilets and other amenities were clean and available. Really well run enterprise, as for me.
