We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 days in Inverness. Robert is like the Scottish friend you wish you had and Ruth makes you feel at home. Their Jack Russell Terrier Milo alos adopted us, probably having nothing to do with the scones and cookies we gave him to eat! When Robert learned I wanted to try different beers and ales, he bought me a bottle of a banana bread beer that was tasty and interesting. It literally took 5 minutes to walk to the center of town, so the location is excellent as well. Wish we could have brought them home with us, but alas, they would not fit in the suitcase.

Few people have the knack of making strangers feel like old friends, add to this the provision of comfortable, clean and inspired accommodation, ( thoughtful additions, like fruit teas and sweeties by the bed) and truly wonderful breakfasts, (pomegranate infused fruit salad, yummy) and you know you have found excellent hosts and an outstanding place to stay, even Montie, the occasionally grumpy Yorkshire Terrier was impressed, ( he says "hi" To Milo). Been visiting Inverness for years and must say Rossmount is the very best....wouldn't consider other accommodation now. Thanks Ruth and Robert, hope to see you again soon.

Room Tip: Trust your hosts, the rooms are all fab

On the train back to Edinburgh after two days at Rossmount Guest House. We loved inverness and all it's charm. The house is perfectly located only 5 minute walk to great dining, sightseeing, and shopping. Robert and Ruth were very gracious host. Used their recommendations for meals and side trips all of which were incredible. Breakfast was amazing! My daughters enjoyed Milo the Jack Russell very much . Also took advantage of the ride to and from the train station.

Extremely clean, nicely decorated and perfectly situated. Ruth and Robert are incredbly warm and friendly hosts. Before we even arrived Ruth had gone out of her way to make sure our Great Dane was accommodated for. We were greeted very warmly upon arrival (even their dog Milo joined in the friendliness), shown the lay of the land and told about dog friendly restaurants in the area. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Lots of choices, well prepared and served with a smile and a laugh. Great suggestions about sights and things to do as well. Nothing seems too much for these two. The house is absolutely spotless and located within easy walking of the town centre. If dogs aren't your thing, or you're allergic, don't worry. I'm sure Ruth and Robert will make sure nothing interferes with the enjoyment of your stay.

We were directed here by Rabbie's as part of a two day tour of the Scotland highlands. A great place with lots of space and privacy. We had a big spider in the room - in they came with ladders and removed it. It was quiet, the fresh air all night was great. We like darkness, the shades gave it to us with the long nights in June. Breakfast was superb with lots of choice.

Room Tip: Close to the main part of the city and within walking distances. found some nice cafes and had easy...

Great hosts and rooms & breakfasts to match. When the taxi dropped us off we thought we were way out of town - we were wrong as the town centre and castle & river were all a short walk away. The en-suite room had everything you could want (inc wifi) - if you're on the large side perhaps you'd be advised to ask for a room with a big bathroom. I've given the "value" a 4 but Inverness is an expensive place to stay so for an Inverness b&b it could be a 5.

Room Tip: Ask for a big bathroom if you're on the large side.

We ended up staying one night at Rossmount because we had decided to come to Inverness a day earl and the other (4-star) B and B we had booked did not have availability for the extra night. After staying one night at Rossmount and then moving to our next B and B, we found ourselves wishing for the next two days that we could have stayed with Ruth and Robert at Rossmount! The rooms, facilities and breakfast are just lovely and they have thought of everything you could possibly need or want. But the real treat about this place are the owners. We were treated with such warmth and hospitality, it felt like we were with family. They went out of their way to make us welcome, in ways that we would never expect. We can't wait to come back to Scotland someday and stay here again, and would highly recommend this guest house to anyone!

Room Tip: Second floor rooms were great with a lovely garden view, but I didn't see the first floor rooms.
