“Excellent food, shame about the wait”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013 via mobile

We dined a few weeks ago, always meant to go but never got round to it. Wine was very good, have since purchased said wine for home consumption. Starters arrived after a wee bit of a wait, the oysters were superb and my partner enjoyed their deep fried cheese very much. The mains arrived, after a longish wait, aging the food itself was wonderful. Only thing that spoilt the evening was after having ordered our starters and waited a wee while for them to arrive we were informed that there was a large private function on and there woukd be a wee bit of a wait for food. It would have been nice to have been made aware of this before ordering, however they did offer us some cocktails on the house to make up for this, so we still left feeling overall very satisfied with the meal. Would definitely go back (especially for the cocktails!)

“Best meal in a long time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2013 via mobile

Went here last minute for a family meal - had forgotten how good this place is! Cocktails whilst reading the menu in the small bar is a nice change and a relaxing start to the meal. Food was outstanding possibly the best steak we have ever tasted and between the six of us every one of us was impressed with what we were served. Seafood was excellent, beautiful presentation and delicious. Staff were efficient, friendly and professional. Thank you contrast for a very enjoyable evening!

“good restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

This was one of the better meals we had in Scotland. Ate here for dinner our first night in Inverness (we stayed in the hotel). The haggis bonbons and smocked haddock scotch egg were great starters. I had the oak smoked salmon kedgeree and my husband had the steak burger with bacon. Both of us were very pleased with our choices. Our waitress was very nice. A little pricier than the pubs we had been eating in, but that is to be expected. Would recommend and would go back again if in Inverness.
