The setting was good and the service just right. BUT my starter of hot smoked salmon with a sauce was so small as to be almost invisible, and the sauce was bland in the extreme. My main course of lamb was very nice indeed but again, the quantity was inadequate - more like a starter portion. The 'Scottish' cheeses in the cheese board weren't as advertised, ie. not from our bonnie land. My partner's mussel starter was probably the best thing in the whole meal but his main course of a seafood rissoto was laughable - the rice was overcooked and he was given precisely 2 scallops and 3 king prawns! Two hours later, we had to attend a fast food outlet before we fainted from lack of nourishment. Overall, a disappointing and very expenisve mistake. Not recommended.

Nice seafood and steaks. Thoroughly enjoyable evening can retire to bar for a brandy or outside for a cigarette and see the river.

My husband and I always eat here when we are up visiting family. The food is amazing, fresh and local. I started with mussels followed by steak - cooked perfectly to my asking. My hubby had the duck starter followed by a Lamb shank that literally melted off the bone and was delicious. We both squeezed in a desert - the home made lemon cheesecake -which was to die for. We look forward to returning soon...... Thanks also to the staff for helping make our evening so enjoyable.

Enjoyed a nice meal here at the end of October 2010. Nothing to complain about - Indeed, would say this restaurant deserves more attention from Inverness diners. Not in the same league as the likes of Cafe 1 and Rocpool but certainly a nice alternative.
