We went without reservations but luckily got a place in about 15 minutes. Enjoyed our special dinner out. However I think you should book tables to avoid disappointment. The mains were excellent.

Visited The Kitchen last night with a small bunch of girls. We pre booked a table for 5 o'clock and at the time we were advised they needed the table again at 7 o'clock. We had beautiful food with great choices and plentiful plates from their Christmas Menu. Everyone loved their food and the waitress was patient and lovely with a bunch of giggling females ! Atmosphere was warm and lovely and they were not in any rush to get rid of us. All in all a great start to our Christmas night on the town.

Wonderful views of the River and Castle! Good food, freshly prepared, reasonably priced. Very pleasant waitress.

Used this restaurant for the first time last week, and found the service excellent. Waitress needs to allow a little more time to study the wine list, and I don't like selecting a wine until we have decided what our main course will be. This is an increasing problem in many restaurants where the norm appears to be getting you starting to drink as soon as you sit down. Both starters were excellent. I had the steak and haggis pastry pie, but the haggis appeared to have disintegrated into the gravy. If that was how it was supposed to be served, then it would be better noted on the menu. The beef was excellent. My wife's chicken was also very good.. The portion of veg was tasty, but small with very little potato. Most disappointing when you have a lot of gravy to soak up. Ordered 2 Drambuie coffees, but they came in large glasses, so, the flavour of the Drambuie was lost in the coffee. Generally, it was small points, easily rectified, that let this restaurant down.

Good freshly prepared food in an excellent central location. From the road bridge across the river look downstream and The Kitchen is 100 metres on the left. We are regular customers and have never been disappointed. It has lovely friendly staff and would highly recommend a visit.
