“Excellent Food and Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2011

After really enjoying the Mustard Seed which is owned by the same people we decided to try the Kitchen.

We ate from the early evening menu which considering you get a glass of wine and two courses is fantastic value.

The food and service was excellent.

I would highly recommend.

“Good, a bit out of the way”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2011

Food was great, staff were welcoming, but it's a cramped building, a bit out of the way in Inverness, and parking isn't easy (hint - Tesco car park around the corner).

“Excellent value, great service, lovely view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2011

Have been to the kitchen many times since it opened and have loved it each time! Have been with friends, family and on romantic occasions and it hasn't disapointed me once!
Excellent service, good choice of meals even on the lunchtime/early evening deals and the childrens menu offers a great choice too! If you can get a table on the top floor the views are fantastic looking over to the castle, but the atmosphere on any floor is just perfect. The kitchen is opne so you can see the chefs beavering away and as the floors are 'open' the chatter from the other diners can be heard which is nice.
The loos are lovely too which is always a bonus!!!
Would definitely recommend!

“Nice view but disappointing food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2011

My wife and I saw this restaurant from across the Ness when we arrived Monday evening, it appeared to be a smart newly designed glass establishment with wonderful views, on Tuesday we walked down and reserved a table for two for that evening.
The restaurant was packed when we arrived, would be clients thronged the entrance but we were shown quickly to our table on the first floor right beside the window, the first thing that struck us was the smell, a mixed aroma of food and cleaning chemicals the latter being predominant.
I started with a smoked salmon and crabmeat salad, the balsamic vinegar dressing was too overpowering for a delicately flavoured dish like this and the fact that the lettuce was
tinged brown made me think this dish had been prepared a lot earlier, I followed this with the sea bass which once again came with an overpowering balsamic vinegar dressing.
My wife had the lamb shank with red cabbage which was overcooked and mushy.
There was a considerable amount of side noise from bells and staff and I could hardly
recommend The Kitchen as a romantic dinner for two venue on this account, a proposed visit to the Mustard Seed on Wednesday evening was cancelled when we were told by a local that they were sister restaurants, as we felt our dining experience was average.
