“What a Welcome”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

After travelling what seems half of the northern most part of Scotland we were welcomed so warmly by a lovely Receptionist who allowed us free reign to look at 2 rooms - one far outweighed the other and we had a nice comfortable room, good shower and a lovely breakfast...as Coolgeezer says its def needs a face lift, tired curtains carpets etc but great value for money!!

Room Tip: Room 2 was ours and not bad!! (A double bed!)

We stopped here after a long day driving and were welcomed warmly
We were allowed to check out the rooms on offer and i must admit the contrast was remarkable, the first room had a dingy and dusty feel but the 2nd room was loveley

The hotel itself was clean and welcoming but in dire need of TLC, If in thurso or surrounding check this place out a comfortable overnight stop, not sure if more than that i woul;d have the same opinion

Stayed on route North on Scotland trip. Hotel situated in town centre with adequate parking at rear of the hotel.

This is a budget hotel but clean and offers value for money. We never experienced any dining due to time constraints and the desire to find a fish restaurant nearby. Breakfast did look good however....

Having driven 250 miles to get there on a Sunday night, the welcome extended by Lisa was first class, and made an excellent first impression.
Hotel and rooms clean, tidy but tired. Supper in the bar was simple bar fare, but again well cooked and well priced.
Absolutely no complaints, but would benefit from redecoration

my 4 night stay was a coach tour based at this hotel,Very average for this type of holiday but much better than a lot of reviews on here,I found it clean and friendly, the room was good and housekeeping perfect . sadly dinners were boring and very bland, I feel the management should sit down and eat it themselfs as the lack of taste is so obviouse , The breakfasts were perfectly acceptable,

Room Tip: back rooms away from traffic would be best

What do I say....noisy outside till 3 am...where are the police..probably in bed sleeping..my husband is disabled and needs the lift . They use a co-op trolley for linen for the bedrooms and leave it lying about all over the place..I.e. the lift ..which I would not use because of the size of it . On second morning hubby could not even get in the lift for dirty stinking linen.
Clean bedding lying on floor in corridors ..fire escape risk. Hoover wires all over the place.remember these corridors are only one person wide..instead off changing dirty towels they folded them and put them back on our bed still damp..breakfast disgusting..un ironed table linen. Sour smell to the whole hotel...in short needs new staff. And a deep clean for the whole hotel

I stayed here for two nights on business, and it is the most bizarre hotel. The smell in the corridors is horrid and the lift is like an inner city multi storey car park lift,it was awful, I used it once and opted to use the stairs thereafter. This is a very unloved hotel, avoid it if you can.
