“worth a visit”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

For me, visiting Dunnet head is worth it for the narrow, winding road that takes you there across open country. Although the viewpoint itself is small, the little lighthouse adds interest, and there is a good view of the sea and the cliffs. I was pleased that I made the effort to visit again.

“Spectacular”

What a magnificent road up to Dunnet Head. Once you're there, the views take your breath away. We were lucky enough to go on a clear day. Definitely worth a visit.

“Unrivalled views of Orkney - if the weather is right!”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

Dunnet Head, along with Duncansby Head further to the east should be on the traveller's "must see" list for this part of Scotland. We were very lucky in September 2013 as our visit coincided with an exceptionally calm and clear day, and we had the neefit of stunning views of the Orkneys, including the Old Man of Hoy which can be clearly seen, and inland back to the Highlands. On this occasion even Cape Wrath could be seen in the far distance. Take binoculars for both the long distance views and the birds. The views are its strengths - it's less of a must if visibility is poor!

“Wonderful”

What a treat for the eyes. If you like solitude and views this is the place for you. Quite a long drive but well worth it. The weather was dreadful when we visited but we were lucky enough to be in a motorhome so it didn't bother us and we stayed most of the day. I shall always remember this place

“Beautiful viewpoint”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

Not a very long walk and a lovely viewpoint. Although it was windy I could have sat up there for ages just watching the sea.
