On arriving for our anniversary dinner we were seated in a secluded corner and we got the romantic personal feel in what turned into a busy restaurant. This did make catching the waiting staffs' attention a little tricky, but fortunately there wasn't much need.

The starters were excellent, a good range of 'different' dishes on offer without many safe 'could cook it myself' offerings. The portion sizes were perfect, satisfying but not over filling leaving room for the main courses which were excellent. I had the venison which was well cooked with an rich sauce, my wife had the belly pork which was beautifully cooked.

The only negative on the whole evening was one of the pieces of my cheese board was the end of the end piece but the staff changed it for a fresh one when asked. I'd recommend this restaurant, because even though it was busy we didn't feel left out.

Our coach back from Stornaway stopped in Aviemore for a lunch break. We had just 45 minutes. We crossed the road to the Cairngorm Hotel. The restaurant was packed with people and we thought we were out of luck.

We told the staff of our limited time, they found us a table and we quickly ordered the roast of the day that came in double swift time. There was a considerable amount of food on the plate and we enjoyed it. Service was swift and professional from smartly uniformed staff who not only looked like they knew what they were doing but proved it.

Decent bottle of CYT (Concha Y Toro) Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 and we enjoyed our lunch without having to rush and we made it back to the coach in time, replete, refreshed and happy.

The welcome and service here was much appreciated by us.

We ate during highland buffet night. Food and service were ok and reasonable value for money. Poor rating is down to bar staff. Older barman was curt and unhelpful when we asked about liqueur coffee choices and was really unfriendly. Then the female barmaid said we could move to the reception area to drink our drinks despite us being completely happy where we were. Maybe we had taken one of the local's stools at the bar? So we felt very unwelcome and promptly left the bar. Bit disappointing really.

Eleven friends and families came here one night during October half term. It was very busy, but staff were accommodating, and service was good.

This was a Thursday night, Highland Buffet Night. We had a look at the buffer, and decided to go al-la-carte. To be honest, there is little difference in the price. Cameron, our waiter, was very personable and made our night. The food was good too. Large portions and well cooked. The favourite dish on the table seemed to be the Haggis Lasagne.

A good, reasonably price evening was had by all. We would go back.

It is half term week , so the restaurant is under pressure to feed everybody. We had mussels for starters which was fairly salty. My ribeye steak was cooked perfectly , although my wife found her venison fairly dry, not the chef's fault as it was not overcooked, just not much fat in the meat. Service was good , worth a visit if you are in town
