Why not upgrade to First Class to enjoy a meal in one of our compartments, finely decorated in it's own tartan, with vintage British Rail mirrors and luggage racks inside.Split your trip up with a visit to Boat of Garten to explore some fantastic walk trails or bring your bike on board to explore the great cycle routes in the area. “An excellent 1/2 day, and enthusiastic Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013

My wife and I visited the railway as part of a package holiday. The 1/2 day experience went very well; and the sun shone, with a couple of bits of rain interlaced. The carriages were pulled by a steam train, so we were happy. Our tour rep's narrative covered several things we would have missed if we had made the trip as a private couple. That said, as a private couple we would have booked lunch on the train, for we would not have been so time limited. The train staff were helpful, and very enthusiastic about their line.

“1st class service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2013

We opted for the first class tickets and it was well worth the extra few pounds. The journey brought back happy childhood memories of the "choo choo". The cushions in our compartment were extremely comfortable and we could have slept soundly had we not wanted to miss a moment of this nostalgic experience. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful with a few colourful characters on board to entertain and inform passengers if they had any queries.

“A pleasant way to enjoy Sunday lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013

My husband booked us onto the steam train to have Sunday lunch on a recent visit to Aviemore. We were shown to our table and as it wasn't overly busy they spread the diners out, providing privacy. The food is provided by Cairngorm Hotel and there was a good range of choice. We both really enjoyed out meal and the scenery before arriving at Broomhill Station where we got off to stretch our legs. Back on board for dessert and coffee on the return home. Definitely a great way to spend a couple of hours on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Great little trip with some stunning scenery. Think my youngest who is 2 was very bored but my eldest who is 5 loved it. Would highly recommend if you have some time to spare. Easy to find.

“Special afternoon treat”

Had afternoon tea in our own private carriage - what a treat! Plenty of tea with our sandwiches and cake and we watched the world go by - highly recommended.
