This is a hotel that I’ve been coming to for 40 odd years and just love it and never disappointed and first time back in a while, we did not eat here for a change as we had a late lunch in Aviemore so just had light bites from the bar at night.
The rooms are large and very comfortable and guaranteed a great nights sleep only to wake up to the perfect breakfast.
Now having our bus pass we thought we would try the Gold Bus to Aviemore and get local bus to Coylumbridge which stops at the Hotel so it was really easy to say the least and should you want to walk into Avimore itself it takes about 25 mins, the hotel is also dog friendly.

It's brilliant to read your review knowing that other potential guests can benefit from your travel tips! The breakfast are well worth taking time over and we recently added omelettes straight from the pizza oven too. Looking forward to welcoming you again soon.

We stayed here for 2 nights as a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 toddler). Everywhere very clean. Restaurant food was lovely, and breakfast was delicious. Staff always helpful with high chairs etc. Pool was lovely and warm for babies and always quiet.

Booked this Hotel last minute, as it claimed to be Dog Friendly. Usually this means Dogs can stay in rooms, and frequent public areas, such as bars, but not restaurants. However, this place only allows you to walk from the entrance to your room with dog. You can only leave your dog unattended in the room whilst eating a meal in restaurant. Obviously, we had no desire to remain in our room all evening, so were directed to drink on the terrace outside. We did this, in the dark, in heavy snowfall, and enduring storm Caroline! The wine could've froze it was so cold! This treatment was degrading, and bad customer service. The Hotel should either change its policy, or stop taking dogs full stop. This would give guests the opportunity to book another hotel where they will feel welcome.
Apart from this, the location is excellent, and the staff were friendly. Don't go at weekends or Christmas though, as parties in the function room result in drunk revellers running up and down corridors shouting and screaming. This happened 2 night s running!
I will not even contemplate using Hilton again.

Been visiting this hotel since mid 80’s sadly never again. We love the area and own a timeshare lodge on this resort so know it very well. Hotel is now firmly aimed for families with kids ,most certainly not for couples. Check in was great with friendly staff on reception but went downhill from there, room was dated and had a bad smell both in it and within the corridors. The main lounge area was ok and has been refurbished recently but was noisy with kids running around unsupervised or unruly with some parents oblivious to this whilst sampling the bar. Don’t get me wrong they are totally right to have a good time but not to the detriment of other guests. The bar area and the dining room/ bistro suffers from a similar experience with noise levels in the main dining room really bad both in the evening and mornings. Main restaurant service is very poor, waited 35 mins for drinks nearly 50 for starters and lost time how long it took to get the rest , was in for nearly 2 hours which would be ok if it was an environment suited to an intimate dining experience which it is the polar opposite. The Bistro is better service wise but suffers from the same issues as the other areas in the hotel. The bar staff were very efficient and courteous but the environment led to a quick drink and a taxi elsewhere. If you have kids and want a hotel to suit them then this is the place to go in this area , if you are a couple really go elsewhere.

Dear mmccarro,

I am really sorry to read your comments. Please be assured that these have been discussed with the relevant departments to ensure that this does not happen in the future.

We try to cater for all our guests including those without children. We do offer an adult only area in the restaurant and no children in the Woodshed Bar after 8pm and also an adult only slot in the pool.

Kind regards,

Iain Miller
General Manager
