Hilton Coylumbridge Hotel
Ranked #4 of 11 Hotels in Aviemore
Reviewed May 9, 2013

Its a lovely hotel, but the room we were in was on the ground floor and very small. The hotel is a little dated in places but it has plenty to do and a great place to stay. Swimming Pool is nice and the food was nice. In fact almost everything about the place is 'just' nice, but not spectacular. However the surrounding area is amazing and there is so much to do outside the hotel it was a great visit.

Room Tip: Avoid Ground floor, near the bar and overlooking the pool, due to the Noise at night

This was the first time I have stayed at the Hilton Coylumbridge, although I have been in for a drink on another occasion. This is a lovely hotel. I couldn't find a thing wrong with it and i am fussy. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms are really big, we had two king size beds in the room for two of us. The staff cannot do enough for you and are so polite (as they should be but you don't always get). We stayed for three nights on the Sunday to Wednesday Special and there was entertainment on every night. Oh the food, we were on Breakfast and Dinner and it was fabulous. Every meal was exceptional. I can't praise this hotel enough! Well Done!!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are good. We had the standard room and it was excellent.

We spent two nights here on the May holiday weekend so very busy. The food was excellent and service considering how busy the restaurant was, excellent. Breakfast if you got up early enough, nice and peaceful and the buffet freshly cooked with a good selection. The rooms were clean .The facilities around the hotel suited all ages. Our party, 7 people ages from 15 months to 72 years. The scenery in the area is stunning, take a drive up by Loch Morlich to Cairngorm and if you feel like it go to the top on the railway, 4000ft Nice view !! Would have no hesitation in staying here again

Room Tip: We were on the second floor, nice and quiet. No lift in the hotel !!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights after dunblane, although it has a worn feeling to it,we had a great time, staff friendly and helpful. On our last night we decided to have a bar meal, the hotel was very busy and I think they forgot our meal as it took 50 mins to come but we were all offered free drinks.

Room Tip: choose a room at the back of the hotel

Stayed 2 Nights at beginning of April for family weekend away. Rooms were fine and there was plenty for our 2 year old to do. We were booked for dinner bed and breakfast but found the restraunt to be far too busy both at breakfast and dinner time. Although when we did get to breakfast i have to say the choice was excellent. The choices on the dinner menu didnt really tickle my fancy and was a bit disappointed to be told we couldnt choose food from the italian buffet available. Apart from that we had a good break with plenty for kids to do and as previously mentioned our 2 year old loved it.

Stayed 3 nights first weekend in may with our two young kids. We used to stay here some 15 years ago on a regular basis. Unfortunately the hotel is now very tired. Rooms basic , carpets worn. During our trip it rained all day so we went swimming to keep the kids occupied however the pool was so full people were waiting on the side for people to leave! As it turns out all the scouts from loch inch were swimming after paying a small fee. The Macdonald resort is significantly better than this hotel

Room Tip: Choose another resort this is no Hilton

Be careful of booking an all-inclusive deal with this hotel - they take your money and they don't deliver. We paid for D+B&B and had to go out to dinner on all 3 nights of our stay as the restaurant was too busy to accommodate us at a reasonable time - ie before 9.30pm. No refund was offered and the staff, including the Manager, couldn't have cared less.
The entire establishment seems to be geared up to families and there were screaming kids everywhere - if you want a romantic stay, or even a peacful one, don't go to this awful place. Nothing could have been further from my lifetime of experience of staying in Hilton Hotels all over the world and I shall never stay in one again.

Thank you for your comments on your recent stay at Hilton Coylumbridge. As I am unable to determine when you stayed it is difficult for me to comment about your dining experience. We do have three options available to guests so find it hard to understand why you felt that you had to leave the hotel in order to have dinner. We are a Family Resort so expect to be busy with families and children at weekends and during school holiday periods.
