We booked a last minute break to the hotel for the first time and would definitely return. For the price and the Hilton brand name I did expect more from the rooms but the restaurant massively improved my overall stay. The food was beautiful and the menu had something for everyone.

The Woodshed was handy to visit and had a great character.

Very Good for Family's, Maybe a little overpriced at certain times of the year !!.
We had a suite which was super as we have a little baby this allowed us to enjoy our evenings.

Room Tip: Get a suite very nice & just re-ferbed last year

We have just come back from a fabulous weeks staying at the Alpine Lodges within the grounds of the Hilton Hotel Aviemore. Whilst we stayed at the lodges by exchanging our timeshare, the lodges can be rented by those who are not timeshare members and at very reasonable rates.

The lodges are very well equiped with everything you could possibly think of to make your stay comfortable. Our only complaint was that there could have been a TV in at least one of the bedrooms. We have a young son who took his XBox with him as we were home reasonably early each evening after skiing and we were all looking to relax in front of the TV. The hotel staff said this was being taken care of and additional TV's were in the process of being fitted. This is the only negative thing we could possibly say about the accommodation. With regard to the resort our only complaint was the rule around children being removed from the pool between 5 and 6.30pm. There is clearly an adult pool and a kids pool therefore it seemed a little excessive to clear both pools during this period each night. For those of us who had been skiing, we were not returning to the accommodation until around 4.30pm which gave little time to swim. A little change around just how the swimming operates could keep everyone happy.

The prices in the hotel bar are expensive but you can always go to the Woodshed (in the grounds of the hotel) which is cheaper and allows children in until 8pm. The staff at the hotel are very helpful and friendly.

The surrounding area has just so much to do for the whole family. We were skiing and walking but there were so many other activities and I guarantee you that anyone who comes to Aviemore or this resort and cannot fill their time with some great outdoor activities clearly doesn't want to!

We will most certainly be back to the Hilton Lodges as they represented great value for money and the surroundings made it a fantastic break.

Room Tip: Choose an Alpine Lodge if you require more than one room, they offer excellent value for money. Go on to the Hilton website and click on the lodges, you'll be taken to a different website, just ring the number and ask what they have available, discounts are available on the prices shown on the website.

Love the new dining room and our 1 week stay overall was excellent.

But with only 2 veggie options on an unchanging menu for the week, it meant we ate the same dish almost every night! Can the hotel not offer an omelette or a salad or something? OK, we didn't ask - largely because 1 of the veggie options was actually very very good - but we really shouldn't have to ask.

Room, pools, staff, woodshed etc etc represent great value for money.

We stayed here for six days over and including Hogmanay. We have been here several times before but this was the first time we had stayed over the New Year period. We are an older couple with 5 year old boy. We stayed in one of the suites within the hotel. We had a great time. Lots to do for all both within the hotel and outside. Some great sledging though not enough snow for ski-ing at that time. As ever, we found that the staff were generally very good: friendly, professional and attentive, with a few exceptions, but not enough to spoil the experience. The main restaurant had recently been renovated extensively and the style has been changed to much more of a restaurant experience rather than the previous semi-canteen feel. That has ben a great improvement and the food was decideledly better than previoulsy ocasions. Service was generally delightful and the new manager was very good indeed. Unfortunately, there were a couple of hicups over the six days with the food and service in the restaurant. But that we thought could be explained by the relative newness of the new set up. Anyway, those hicups were swiftly and professionally resolved and we were very happy with the whole food experince. The Hogmanay and New Year's Day special eveings were surpisingly very good, very well and charmingly managed and good entertainment and very good food. We would definitely return. But, there is a downside. the suites are rather tired looking and have had no investment since at least 1990 we would think. very tired. The swimming pools are great for kinds but again, more investment needed there to meet modern expectations. That applies just as much to the changing rooms.. But given the price we paid (advance booking) was still very good value we thought: about £1800 for three of us, in a suite, half-board including the New Year special activities.
