This restaurant is just one of the many attractions and activities that contribute to a great day out in Rothiemurchus in the Badenoch and Strathspey region of the Highlands of Scotland.
The food is great and there is a selection ranging from excellent sandwiches to full meals at lunchtime and the restaurant is also open for dinner. Soups are really good with a special mention of Cullen Skink, a Moray coast speciality consisting of smoked haddock and potatoes in a creamy liquid. Mmmm. The aforementioned sandwiches are full of flavour, generously filled and use mainly local ingredients. There is a good selection of the local Cairngorm Brewery beers to wash down the food.
In summer, we often eat outside but today, we chickened out and ate in the small but welcoming dining room. Staff are attentive, friendly and efficient. This is definitely one not to miss!
