Description: The Druie takes its name from the burn(river) that rushes behind the restaurant and always seems in a hurry to carry clear, sparkling mountain water from the Cairngorms to the River Spey. We are open daily 9.30am - 5.00pm for locally roasted coffee, locally sourced tasty lunches, leaf teas and delicious homemade cakes, with a focus on dishes prepared from lovingly home produced beef from our pedigree herd of Highland cattle, our velvety venison from the ancient forest of Rothiemurchus and seasonal produce from specialist producers, served in a relaxed, friendly environment. Whilst enjoying your coffee or lunch at the Druie, you can enjoy the exhibition of local artwork which changes each month, especially selected by Ellie, who manages the Gallery at Loch an Eilein and is also a member of Creative Cairngorms.

I work surveying trees and, whenever I fnd myself doing so among the Cairngorms, I call into the Druie, either for luch, or a little light refreshment. The food is always excellent, and the service friendly. Couldn't be better.

“Tasty food in a bonny setting!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

We visited recently with our two year old after a busy morning sledging up Cairngorm. My husband and I both had the burgers - I'm in the food industry and these were definitely homemade - absolutely delicious! As were the spicy wedges and salad that came with them! They were very good and made a nice plain cheese sandwich for our daughter (she's going through the food fussy stage!) and even provided colouring pencils and paper while we waited for our food.

The food was quite filling - so much so that we had to go for a wee walk along the beach at Loch Morlich along the road!

If/when we are in the area again, I would definitely try to revisit this place!!

Its' really nice for the team to hear stories about the good experiences - thank you for letting us know. The burgers are made here, we spent many hours trying to get the burger recipe just right but what makes them so special is that the pedigree fold of Highland Cattle are looked after beautifully and have wonderful happy lives here and our butchers prepare them with the same care and attention.

“Scotland at its best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013 via mobile

This is everything Scotland should be - cosy - freshly sourced local food - really friendly local staff. The burger is the best and is one of the best I have tasted in Scotland. The place is always buzzing with walkers, skiers and foodies.

“Yummy snack”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2013

After a long stroll around Loch an Eilien the warm welcome of The Druie drew us in. Tasty home bakes and a great flat white hit the spot. Some beef from the Rothiemurchus Estate shop set us up for a delicious supper back at the lodge cooked by yours truly. You have to love Cairngorm x x
