“Beautiful Location”
Reviewed July 31, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This is a well designed property which maximises its location in the heart of a forest. We saw many birds and animals just watching from the living room and kitchen windows, including deer and hares.

Points to be aware of is that there are some steps up to the property and there is no sign at the turn off so we initially drove past the opening. You can't see the house from the road.

I was also surprised that the cost of the electricity we used was deducted from our deposit. I would normally expect that to be included in the rent. But these are minor issues. The property was spacious, clean and well appointed.

“Brilliant Lodge, in a brilliant setting.”
Reviewed April 16, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We stayed in the Speyside lodge between the 10th and 14th April, our party consisted of 7 adults, one child, one baby and two dogs.
The lodge is very comfortable, and well equipped, and even with such a large party it was big enough for all plus more. The setting is beautiful and quiet, set in the outskirts of a forest, and with no other houses in sight. From the door of the lodge there are some fantastic scenic walks through the forest.
Being only 1 1/12 miles from Aviemore, access to shops and other amenities is easy.
Would highly recommend to families, and people of all ages, but only if you want a quiet peaceful scenic location.

“Amazing Setting, Comfortable & Homely Lodge”
Reviewed March 11, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We stayed here to celebrate my 40th birthday and enjoy walking in the mountains. The lodge is comfortable, well equipped and in a stunning quiet location.

We enjoyed walks in the Estate and on the Cairngorm Mountain.

“A very comfortable and spacious lodge, in a very peaceful and serene setting.”
Reviewed November 5, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

What a wonderful place to stay! Such a great location.
The accommodation exceeded our expectations, the property was well equipped and the information we were given was clear and easy to understand. We all arrived by public transport but most of the activities are within easy walking distance or are a short taxi ride away. We loved the Highland Wildlife Park, The Potting Shed Cafe (a must to visit) and The Old Bridge pub. The activities on offer are many and we enjoyed making pots at the local pottery. We now eagerly await their arrival through the post.
We met the owners briefly, on our arrival, who were very friendly and very helpfully left us a pile of logs for the log burner, which lasted us throughout the week.
We would not hesitate to recommend this property to others.
If my son had not hired a car then we would have struggled to take glass jars and bottles to the landfill site ( glass is the only thing which cannot go in the recycle bins) however you can leave these to be taken away at a cost of £20.

“Beautiful lodge, beautiful location”
Reviewed September 30, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

There were 9 adults and a dog in our party and I worried it might be cramped but it was lovely and roomy.
The layout of the open plan living/ kitche/ dining area was ideal and made for a lovely sociable time for all of us. Age group ranged from 19-90, and there was something for everyone. The younger people enjoyed the 'home cinema' and wii facilities in the evening.
During the day there are ample places to visit - it's a brilliant place for those who enjoy walking, cycling or the great outdoors generally. We had a lovely long weekend at Spey Lodge and hope to return.

“Lovely holiday in beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed July 15, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Had an excellent holiday at Spey Lodge with 3 generations of the family. Set in beautiful woodlands with lots of wildlife around. Close to aviemore - 5 mins by road. 20 mins to Loch Insh. Walk to Loch an Eilan in 20 mins. Accommodation was lovely with modern kitchen, american style fridge and separate freezer, utility/drying room and tv projector with sky/wifi connection. Kids enjoyed lounging on large bean bags at end of busy day doing water sports. Plenty of storage and use of a garage to store bikes, golf clubs etc Board games available. Very minor criticism - difficult to get TV to work -thankfully had a member of party who was good with technology and has sky at home. Definitely would recommend.

“Perfect location for family young and old.”
Reviewed July 8, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We stayed for one week with five adults and four children aged between 5 and 7. Accommodation was ideal for all with plenty of space and three bathrooms. Cinema room was a bonus especially for the wee ones to keep them quiet for a couple of hours and for the adults to chill out watching a film when they all were in bed!! The location in the woods was enchanting and private so no problem with disturbing the neighbours when the kids got a bit rowdy. Walks through the woods exploring with the kids was great fun and not far from many of the other activities in the area. All in all a wonderful break for all the family. Would definitely return.
