Really informal pub restaurant, with a great, friendly atmosphere, excellent food and a wide selection of drinks and real ales. Excellent service and friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
Came here for dinner on 2 nights as part of a three night ski-ing trip staying in Aviemore. Also called in for some apres-ski on one afternoon so got a good idea of this venue. One of the most friendly, laid back bar/restaurants that we've come across, great for chilling with drinks after a day on the slopes or relaxing over a meal later in the evening. Good music and atmosphere, and from all the posters a popular music venue at weekends with numerous artists playing here as part of Scottish / UK tours.
Food service, quality and presentation was excellent, and very busy judging by all the activity visible through the open serving area between bar and kitchen. Menu was quite short, 5/6 options for either starter, main or dessert, but all very well cooked and presented. A little pricey compared to city venues, but good quality ingredients. Their local loin of venison which we both had on the second evening was one of the best prepared pieces of venison we've ever had - cooked perfectly and delicious. Previous evening mains of sea bream and belly pork were also excellent. Highly recommended.
Really informal - so buy a pint of local real ale at the bar, take it to your table, and return to the bar to chat after your meal if you wish.
