“Fantastic food if expensive”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

The food was extremely tasty and way above what you would expect of standard pub food.
The menu choice was slightly limited but we still struggled to choose between the available dishes as they all sounded excellent.
The service was friendly and prompt.
As there is little competition locally, the price was slightly inflated but not any more than 'London prices' for the quality provided.

Had a good night in here after walking the Larig Ghru. Staff were chatty and only wish we had the food.

“Top whack gastropub”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

Eating here was a very enjoyable way to celebrate the end of a trip. The menu was interesting, the cooking was well executed and the flavours robust. The restaurant was busy on a Friday night in season, but the service was excellent and the kitchen didn't miss a beat. Later the bar completely filled up and there was a great young-adult atmosphere. There was also a live band who were pretty shocking the night we went but you can't win them all. The beer was very good, as well as the local Stag which is a bit startling if you are used to English ale there were other local beers which had a more universal appeal. Three courses and beer worked out at £50 per head.
