Located just a 5-minute walk along the main the road from the centre of Aviemore, this motel is surprisingly comfortable, modern and practical. The rooms are good value for money, specially for a family of 4. There are no breakfast facilities, but you do get tea & coffee in the room. The motel has an Italian restaurant associated with it just 30 yards away which I'd recommend for lunch or dinner.
The only downside was that the walls are not well insulated against sound and you can hear the people in the next room if they speak or snore loudly.

We stayed for one night whilst touring Scotland. The room we well designed, immaculately clean and comfortable. It was equipped with everything one needs in an hotel room. The Italian restaurant on-site provided a decent meal with friendly service. All in all this is exactly what I expect from a budget hotel.

Really super room of the very highest standard of cleanliness and comfort. Plush curtains, comfy settee, comfortable bed and all really nice furnishings. Three large shining mirrors in the bathroom plus a magnifying shaving mirror. All immaculately clean. We were very impressed with the room and the surrounding of the motel, everywhere so very clean and tidy and in the lovely setting of the lea of a mountain. All much appreciated and would highly recommend. Excellent value.

Room Tip: Our room was excellent and I see no reason to doubt that all of the others would be just as good. Qu...

Firstly location wise we found this place great. It is located right on the roundabout at the South entrance to Aviemore. This means it is a short stroll of 10 minutes to the twon centre of Aviemore to the North and Rothiemuchus to the East, or 2 minute drive.

We stayed in the hotel part of the complex but it also seemed to have large chalets and camping too. The hotel romm was a good size and spotlessly clean. Its based near a road but it is also quiet so I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting a good value clean base in easy reach of the main attractions and walks.

We stayed on the campsite on the hotel and must say its the worst campsite we have ever been to. The space we were given to camp was covered in rocks making it impossible to peg down our tent so we had to lend you pegs at £1 per peg -surely these should be provided free as the ground is so insuitable.

The bathrooms are closed for 3 hours each day and you would not know this as there are cobwebs and dead flys all over the windows, also the shower curtain does not fit so you jave a massive puddle outside of the cubicle. You also have to pay a £5 deposit to use the bathrooma

Its also one of the loudest sites i have ever been too. At 10 o'clock last might, when i was trying to get some sleep ahead of a 7 hour drive there was music blasting from another residents car - was this stopped by anyone. No. There should be wardens patrolling to keep noise at a low

Childen and dogs are everywhere on the site making a relaxing holiday impossible.

The staff are no use. Reception is open 8am-10pm, i called in at 8pm to ask a simple question and the polish lady behind the desk told me to come back the following morning to ask her colleague.

In conclusion if you want to waste £23 a night then stay here. But it is the loudest, dirtyest and most unhelpful place i have every stayed.

We stayed two nights at the High Range for what was a fantastic and far too short weekend.

The High Range was a fantastic base - a big, beautiful, clean and smart room, with lots of windows with fabulous views of the Cairngorms beyond. We slept very comfortably and were very happy with the room.

The only fault I would make would be the thin walls, which, when coupled with a very inconsiderate family staying next door (If you were in room 17 on Saturday 11th August, you should be ashamed of yourself!) made for a rather broken night of sleep and a very early start thanks to all the shouting and slamming of doors.

Room Tip: Avoid being backed onto a family room if you want a quiet night free of shouting and slamming.
