Description: We use some of Scotland's best local produce to create healthy, wholesome & interesting food with a Kiwi twist. We opened our doors in 2004 and have been gaining awards and accolades for our antipodean style coffees, delicious breakfasts, superb lunches & fresh home baking ever since. Our service is friendly & casual with a professional team from all over the world. The café offers excellent views of the Cairngorm Mountains - enjoy our balcony area during summer and the cosy log burner to sit by during the winter months. All the pictures are of our food - why not come in and sample our hospitality when you are in the area next?

Spent 3 nights up in Aviemore with the family over the summer. This was our haven during mixed weather. Queues did not deter us (proves how popular this place is). Amazing coffee, superb steak ciabatta and home baking to die for. Faster WiFi would be great - but whats not to like in this fantastic cafe.

This is a very popular cafe and there really aren't many places in the north of Scotland that offer such a good selection of casual food - it is perfect for the typical outdoor visitors to Aviemore. We didn't wait long for a table but it seemed like forever for the breakfasts to arrive and when they did some of it was burned black and much of it overcooked - it was all heaped up and covered with a perfectly-cooked egg. The pleasant waitress was apologetic but I can't understand why it ever left the kitchen, this was disappointing after a long wait and I left feeling they are just a bit greedy and either don't have enough staff or try to cram in too many tables for the kitchen capacity. Sad really as places with a bit of style are a rare thing around here - I'll assume from other reviews that mine was an unusual experience.

We have been back here again for breakfast is morning and both food and service were excellent as is the norm for the Mountain Cafe! Well worth a visit even if you have to wait for a table, the wait is worth it.

What a superb range of cakes! So many to chose from, including the biggest selection of gluten-free cakes & biscuits I have ever seen! 3 of us had a different cake each and they were all fabulous! The staff are very welcoming and pleasant, and there is a great view too.

Visited twice. First time for coffee and cake, which was melt in the mouth. We then went back for breakfast. I had the French toast with bacon, banana and fruits. This was possibly the most delicious breakfast I had ever experienced! Staff were all very pleasant and efficient. Well worth queuing for.
