Not much to look at but a real treat when inside - attentive staff, copious amounts of tea and a great array of choice. The food comes quickly and is reasonably priced for its quality and portion size. You can't go wrong.

Some years ago was by far the best Asian restaurant around. Food still, on its day, good and mostly superior to other Chinese/ Malaysian restaurants in Glasgow with the exception of Rumours and Asian Gourmet round the corner. It is still basically a canteen , no problem with that, but the stealth increases in price over the past few years have dulled my enthusiasm. Signature dishes such as crab and sizzling dishes well overpriced as are most specials. A pity as the food is still pretty good especially the greens with ginger etc.

Been going here for years & years back & forth. Last couple of times we went, we couldn't fault it. Have had a few average meals over recent times, last night was one of those nights. It used to be consistently brilliant but now it's a hit or a miss. When it's good, it's very good, when it's not, it's decidedly average. Go back 10 years & you used to get free soup & fruit at the end, with most mains costing a fiver. Time has moved on but as the prices have jumped up, the consistency has not. Still one of my favourite places to go in Glasgow but maybe it's time to start looking for another 'authentic' gem.

We went out the other night intending to go to the Asian Gourmet in West Princes Street. When we got there we found they were closed and in the process of a major refurb. The Asia Style is just around the corner so we went there instead. Maybe it was just the comparison with their close neighbour, but Asia Style failed to impress. The "sizzling" Schezuan chicken lacked sizzle and resembled a dull take away attempt at sweet & sour except it wasn't sour and the chicken was chewy. The Malyasian sliced beef was quite tender but the gravy could have been Bisto with a bit of chilli added. There was a weird disparity in portion size with a rather dull aubergine, salt fish and pork dish being large whilst the very good stir fried greens with chilli was very small indeed especially for the £8 price tag. The house red wine is just about OK but should be better for £4.75. The decor is plain and functional and the service is pretty fast. One waitress was very glum and offhand whilst the other was cheerful and friendly. I see that this restaurant has had many good reviews so maybe they were having an off night but we'll be going to the Asian Gourmet as soon as they open again..

It's been a long time since I visited here, but the food was as good as ever. We had the delicious Malaysian pancake ( with an amazing coconut sauce) and the soft shell crab to start. The crab was nice, but I felt £8.50 was a wee bit pricey. We couldn't decide between the satay and sizzling Malaysian chicken, but the aromas from the next table ( Malaysian chicken) made us order that to be going on with. It was delicious, as was the coconut rice. There was no room left for the satay, so that will have to wait till another time! A bottle of Vina Sol ( £14.50, great price for a restaurant) brought our bill to just under £40.
