“great but a good welcome wouldnt hurt!”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

Great food and pre theatres menu great value. Went in at 1703 and felt less than welcome and so got stuck at the front door seat! However food, service and value redeemed the evening and some

“Oil I'll not be going back”
Reviewed June 27, 2014 via mobile

We had dish of the day - sea bream - asked for head to be removed and this done.

Sauce with fish very oily and sea bream tasteless. Roasted vegetables (a small pudding bowl for two to share) very oily too.

Dining experience - strange - crockery mixed - china cups and saucers but none matched - maybe wacky - alright in a coffee shop but not in a restaurant. It was a very hot day and didn't enjoy dining experience. If there had not been graduation parties nobody in restaurant.

Would never return - a big expensive disappointment.

“Bijoux Fish Restaurant in the West End”
Reviewed June 18, 2014

We visited No 88 for 5pm lunch on a Friday and were the only patrons to enjoy a relaxing lunch. There was a warm welcome to this room and kitchen restaurant with it's unique gold painted plasterwork and stunning painting of the two fat ladies.
Definitely an intimate venue in a compact setting, where the chef cooks in a tiny kitchen in the shop window. The set lunch provides a short but interesting menu and a complimentary glass of French white if you book online. We enjoyed two courses including mussels, salmon and chicken which were well presented, tasty and freshly prepared. You can round off the meal with a rich tasting coffee served in a vintage bone china cup with saucer. The service is friendly, informative and efficient. Lunch is great value for money in this small West End restaurant which deserves more support. Definitely recommended.
