We have enjoyed several meals at Two Fat Ladies West End over the past few years and we have never written a review (boo to us!).
Every visit is fantastic, the fish is fresher than fresh and the dishes are full of flavours which compliment the fish beautifully like my grilled mackerel fillets with slow roasted tomatoes, ricotta and balsamic glaze, simple but oh so delicious!
The fish platter of the day is an amazing bargain for the sheer amount of food which you are served, however the way each fish fillet is beautifully pan fried makes us go back again and again. The desserts are delicious too, we had lemon tart with creme fraiche sorbet (the sorbet was a new discovery!) and chocolate hazlenut layered cheesecake, both fab! We have managed to devour the platter of desserts in the past, which is amazing, worth a shot if you think you're brave enough!
The atmosphere is relaxed, warm and friendly, with an open kitchen, so you can hear your fish being pan fried. It isn't the largest of restaurants, but this adds to the atmosphere. The wine list is good value for money, the staff are attentive and give a warm welcome and they make an amazing Hendricks Gin & Tonic. A vintage tone comes from the china crockery, cutlery and the background music.
If you are visiting Glasgow it is definitely worth a visit for lunch or dinner - enjoy!
