“First Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2012

We had hoped to dine at The Buttery but it was fully booked. As it had been taken over by the Two Fat Ladies, we decided to try one of their other venues. I went reluctantly as I love The Buttery!

This is a very small intimate restaurant which was extremely good. The food was first class, as was the service. It was a quiet evening and we did stay on chatting to family friends, but at no time were we made to feel we should leave. Highly recommend a visit.

“A treasure and 88”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2012

At 88 Dumbarton Road sits a rather undistinguished shop front. Taking its name from the Bingo Caller's "Nickname" for 88 is "Two Fat Ladies", and this gives our dark exterior its name.
Step through the door and walk past the galley kitchen into the small dining room and you find yourself in an eclectically furnished interior where all sorts of delights are routinely served to people with discerning pallets.
88 Dumbarton Road is the original and the best of the "Two Fat Ladies" brand. They specialize in fresh high quality seafood. This restaurant is worth a visit and then another and another ...

“YES YES YES AND YES AGAIN.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2012

This is one of my favourite places to eat in the whole of Glasgow. Reasons:
Fresh Fresh fish.
small un fussy menu that boasts quality
Intimate place of character
Staff know what they are doing

If I am asked where would i go for fish in Glasgow this would feature in my top 3, only perhaps pipped by 'The Finnieston' and 'Gamba'.

“Great seafood”

Really good value for money and really fresh food. The sole and scallops were delicious and the deserts were to die for. Really friendly service and great value.

“Lovely meal”

Food was great, service came with a smile. We went on a quiet night so not a lot of atmosphere but that was nobody's fault. Would go back.
