“Sunday Dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2014

We enjoyed our meal, our food was very good and well presented. We particularly enjoyed the home made bread that was offered while we waited for our starters. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, but the atmosphere was a little strange, the restaurant although quite busy was very, very quiet. The tables are arranged around the sides of the room and we were placed just behind an open door which was a little draughty.
We did enjoy our meal, but felt that it was overpriced.

“Great Scottish Menu”

The ambience, service, wine list, and food are first rate. This is an excellent hotel restaurant. The menu features Scottish meat, fish, and fowl.

“Poor value”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2014

After hearing so many great things about 1 Devonshire Garden's Hotel Du Vin Bistro I was very disappointed. The atmosphere was poor with bad music. Our main dish of Monkfish was very tasty but over all food wasn't great. The carrot cake's ingredients did not compliment each other at all. The toilets were really disgusting and filthy. Flushes weren't working and there was a door off the hinge. Service was the only thing that saved the evening with a lovely young blonde woman that welcomed us and a waiter called Fergus that was very helpful and pleasant. Would not recommend this place to anyone! For two people out bill came to over £100 for two main dishes, a desert and 500ml of wine, money we would not mind spending if the evening had been better quality! With places like The Gannet and the 2 Fat Ladies in Glasgow this place should really step up their game.

“Outstanding staff and excellent food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2014

Dined here yesterday and it was a most enjoyable experience! We had the champagne lunch and although a fairly limited menu the food was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed! The staff were superb! Pleasant and attentive they are a credit to the hotel! However the dining room was cold and when we went into the bar to have coffee it was even colder! Crumbs from breakfast I assume were still on my husbands chair and lying on the carpet. The decor in the dining room and bar is tired and in need of updating. However these minor moans did not detract from us enjoying our lunch!

“Birthday treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

My fiance booked this restaurant as a birthday treat and from start to finish we were treated so very well by staff who were proffessional, caring and very knowledgable in their brand and produce served.
We enjoyed a glass of champagne in their lounge which was lovely and then taken through to a lovely cosy restaurant and treated to an amazing meal with one of the best bottles of wine weve ever had!
Thank you to the great staff who made a wonderful day into a fantastic memory - will definately be back!
