“Pre Theatre is great value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2013

Had a most enjoyable meal with friends before a gig at O2 ABC. The food was tasty with the portion size perfect.

The selection on the pre theatre menu was just right and was very reasonably priced.

One of the things I really liked was that they served locally brewed St Mungos beer.

Will be going back.

“An old favourite :)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2013

Have eaten at this establishment on a recurring basis for years, although I more frequently visited the Byres Road one which has since closed. Came here last week for the first time in a while, and it seemed very much on form. Service was quick and friendly, had the lasagne and it was delicious! Good pre-theatre deal on until 6.30pm. Will go again.

“Below average food and service.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

Had mussels for a starter - very average and rather stringy and tasteless with the sauce quite watery also. Main was spaghetti and meatballs in a tomato sauce. Meatballs were ok, sauce had virtually no taste to it (no seasoning or herbs I guess?). I honestly could've prepared a better italian meal at home.

Staff were ok. One male was friendly and helpful, other was ok (he brought me my pasta and didn't offer any parmesan or black pepper so i had to ask him for this after it became apparent this wasn't forthcoming).

All the staff seemed in a bit of a flap - seemed relatively busy but not overly so. Problems in that respect - understaffed or poorly managed?

I wouldn't return due to the blandness and seemingly poor quality of the food and because of the average service.

“Excellent Pre Theatre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

Visited here for a pre theatre on the Seasonal Menu last week, although busy we were greeted with friendly staff who promptly showed us to our table, Menu was varied. Starters were piping hot and the Carbonara and lasagne were tasty and piping hot also. Drinks not any dearer than anywhere else in the town.
Would definitely go back.

“Fantastic Meal At Cafe Antipasti!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013

Stayed in Glasgow recently and had an evening meal at Cafe Antipasti. As a vegetarian, I often feel there's not much consideration given in restaurants to me actually getting something nice to eat; however Cafe Antipasti provide an exception to this norm! After a tasty starter, I selected the Vegetarian Platter. This consisted of hummus & flatbreads, a spinach & ricotta raviolli dish and the most delicious butternut squash lasagne I have ever tasted! Our party had originally planned to have a dessert, but we were all so full from the mains we couldn't manage. With drinks and coffee's our bill came to an exceptionally reasonable £15 approx. each! All in all, excellent value, friendly staff and great food (the meat eaters agreed with this too, for info :-) ) !!
