I don’t have a bad word to say about Mono. The staff are always really friendly, they play great music and there is a cute wee book shop (good press) and record store (monorail music) tucked away at the back of the room. Not only is the food always super tasty but they have a great selection of drinks, including beer from the Williams Brothers, Whole Earth sparking juices and coffee roasted by Dear Green. Despite being hidden away from the main drag the place is usually pretty busy, and it is easy to see why. Mono is the perfect place to relax with a book, catch up with friends or do a bit of studying.
I ate here on Monday night and shared a spicy chickpea soup, puy lentil and kale soup, smoked tofu sandwich with pesto mayo, tomato and spinach and a falafel wrap with lots of tasty, crunchy cabbage and tzatziki. Be warned though, the portions are HUGE.
