Description: The original La Bonne Auberge first opened its doors on Bastille Day in 1975, and it's had something to celebrate ever since. Glasgow's first French-Mediterranean brasserie and Bar, this smart restaurant with its aproned waiters and blackboard menus now has an AA Rosette to confirm what the locals have known all along. Set in the fashionable Theatreland district, this is a feast of Riviera cuisine.

Used the restaurant about a dozen times during a stay in the Holiday Inn. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff very attentive. There was a set menu which had plenty of options, was very good value and very tasty.
It might be advisable to book as the restaurant is very busy especially when the theatre shows are on. Very convenient location is also a big bonus, will definitely visit again.

This is a typical looking bristrot that has been there for over 40 yrs. Very nice place and a lot better than expected given the location across from the local theatres. The service was OK, but the food was very flavourful, well presented with some interesting fusion touches. I didn't pay the bill so I don't know how expensive it was, but as I recall the dishes were averagely priced. I would have no problem coming back.

We spontaneously decided to have a bite to eat, as I unexpectedly found myself in Glasgow on a Friday night.. La Bonne Auberge was my first choice, as I recalled enjoying my last visit. This was a 50/50 experience at best. It was a last minute decision. The staff did not warm to us as we didn't have a reservation. My friend ordered duck and I a steak. The meal was so much more enjoyable than the dining experience. We couldn't wait to leave....

Thank you for your review. We are disappointed that you couldn't wait to leave after enjoying the food but we are confused about your comments about the dining experience. We do hope you will return soon.

We made a party booking at this wonderful restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, and couldn't have made a better choice1 The food was delicious along with the selection of wines which accompanied the meal. We were given a private room which meant we could play the music of our choice (60's & 70's) and we could also display photos etc. The staff were excellent especially our "own" waitress. I would definitely recommend this venue.

Don't know why they call it that as it's really just the restaurant for the Holiday Inn, but it's been there for about forty years now so they must be doing something right? Opposite Cineworld, it's really handy for lunch or dinner, the food isn't bad at all and, if you stick to the deal of the day, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere pleasantly informal and relaxing.
