“Absolutely terrible food and service!!”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

We went in for a quick lunch which turned out to be an hours wait. I asked for a panini which took an hour to come and when it came it didn't have any tomato, basil or olives in it...just mozerella...so they took it back and I had to wait another 20 minutes. The two waitresses had terrible customer service, spoke so quietly you couldn't understand them and didnt seem to care that we had waited for more than an hour and they gave me the wrong thing to start with.

“Good Place to Halt for a Coffee”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

This is a small restaurant-cum-coffee shop situated on Great Western Road in the heart of Glasgow's fashionable West End.

I was here on Sunday 1 June 2014 which, as it turned out, was the first day of the West End Festival. The place was unusually full.

I like to sit here and watch the world go by. It is favoured by students and those with a West End disposition (arty, liberal and discerning in taste).

I have always found the service prompt and courteous. Invariably, you are approached by staff with a menu in hand as soon as you take a seat. No one seems to mind if you if you say "I just want a coffee, thanks".

I have studied the menu and eaten there on the odd occasion. The food on offer provides a good choice for those who do not eat meat. The accent is on Middle Eastern cuisine.

On this last occasion I ordered a scone and butter to accompany the coffee. I like the fact that they take the trouble of warming the scone.

This is a good place to halt for a coffee if you are visiting Glasgow and find yourself, as most do, in this part of the city.

“Unusual and Exciting Food”
Reviewed April 20, 2014

We visited on two occasions whilst visiting the museums in the area. The first time we popped in for tea and cake, but returned for dinner a few days later. We are vegetarian, and the choice was good. We enjoyed aromatic aubergine bake with saffron rice and Arabian korma sabzy with couscous. The service was good and food arrived promptly and freshly cooked. The atmosphere was friendly and unhurried with interesting middle eastern decor. Would definitely return again.

“Great Vegan Breakfast”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

Had breakfast here with the family. 1 vegan breakfast which was great, also a couple of vegetarian breakfasts which were also great. Big servings and tasted perfect. The menu seems quite meat heavy (Meditteranean focussed) but there were vegan and vegetarian breakfasts on offer which is what atracted us there in the first place so it has something for everyone.

Was quiet when we were in (Monday morning) so service wasnt a problem.

The waitress was polite and friendly and the chef also asked how our food was after. the cafe is well decorated with good quality furniture.

There is plenty of on street parking outside and round the corner.

Would definitely recommend it and we'll be going back.

“Disappointing service, even worse food”
Reviewed April 13, 2014 via mobile

Just visited today for lunch with family and friends. The service was very poor and the waitress did not really know anything about any of the food. Many of the things we initially ordered weren't available and when it eventually arrived the food was not very nice. Overlooked chips, overdone couscous and the main course of vegetarian korma (spinach and red kidney beans ?!?) was not pleasant. Definitely won't visit again.
