Our first date was here in 1970 so what better way to celebrate 38 year anniversary than a takeaway (carry out in Glasgow) from our initial trysting spot. Bhuna lamb and garlic chicken chilli nishilee were if the usual outstanding standard adequately supported by pilau and boiled rice, garlic nan and paratha. Four more meals purchased for stocking the freezer in case withdrawal sets in at any point. Staff are always welcoming and pleasant, cheerful and obliging. First rate in every respect

Thank Nilindy

The first Indian restaurant in Glasgow was the Green Gates, run by the father of Mr "Ali", the present owner of the Shish. I ate there regularly when I was a student (1968). The Shish then opened in Gibson Street, and subsequently moved to it's present location in nearby Park Road.
The restaurant is plush, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, The varied and mouth-water food perhaps may be equalled in Britain, but, in my opinion, not beat. There is also a well stocked bar.
If you like Indo-Pak food, you will love this gem of a place. Incidentally, the "tikka masala" was invented here.

Ive been a customer for years, have commented here before and still maintain it is the best curry you will get but last nights visit was disappointing when I saw the substantial price increases since my last visit.Normally a meal for two with a bottle of house wine would have been about £35 to £40 but across the board rises have pushed this to about £50.In addition I thought the portion sizes had decreased.
The meal itself, presentation and friendly staff cannot be faulted and I accept prices are rising all over but at £50 for a Monday night dinner I felt it may be a long time before I go back. The place was packed after 7.30 so book your table.

the meal was lovely and the staff are very attentive but it can be pricey especially for a group of 4, if you don't mind the price it is a great eat
