Just pick this Resturant as it was close and came up on Tripadvisor. Excellent food, service spot on. What more can you ask for. Will be visiting again!

“Different from the norm”
Reviewed February 12, 2014

Service was very slow. It was a Friday night and busy but still took ages to order and ages to get waiters attention for more water/wine.

Menu - almost all the curries sounded exactly the same with the ingredients written in a different order! None of the usual dishes you find as this restaurant specialises in south Indian food. They also don't have nan bread but other types of pancake breads.

My curry arrived and was nice. I didn't really like any of the bread things- they looked good but tasted bland and the pancakes kind of soggy.

When our bill arrived it was about £10 dearer per head than my regular trip to an Indian restaurant in Glasgow and I didn't enjoy it as much.

It is certainly a change from the norm, but not necessarily a good change in my opinion.

Don't think I'll bother going back.

“A great change from the norm”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

Really enjoyed our visit to Dakhin. Having been there once previously several years ago,it felt like a new experience. The menu is extensive with a wide selection of choices. Without the typical naan and pakoras, we were forced to branch out to different choices including a mixed platter to start and a few different dosas. All were delicious. The waiter provided several recommendations, all of which were on the money, including my main of flame cooked sea bream with a spicy sauce. Only slight downside was the price - felt it was a bit too expensive for what we had, but only marginally. Will certainly be back soon.

“Really nice curry”
Reviewed February 9, 2014 via mobile

Having been to dhabba on several occasions I thought it was about time we tried dakhin.
Quality of the food was very good, certainly on par with dhabba. Decor wasn't as nice but I dont go to a restaurant to look at the walls, its the food that counts and I couldnt complain, very good and very tasty.
Bit disappointed I couldn't get a nan bread but the dossa was very nice.

“This was one of the most delicious restaurant meals I've eaten in ages”
Reviewed February 6, 2014

Some difficulty finding the place as is up a stair but well worth it, the staff were lovely, the room warm and welcoming on a horrible January night and the food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back, not sure why it has taken me so long to "discover" it.
