Description: Established in 2004, Dakhin was the first authentic South Indian restaurant in Scotland. Set amidst the centre of Glasgow's Merchant city district, it offers diners a vast array of speciality dishes from India's southern region. We're talking about authentic recipes using fresh natural ingredients from award-winning chefs. Food worth talking about, and a warm dining experience to savour. Dakhin proudly features within the Michelin Guide and comes highly recommended by many food critics. If you are looking for something different from your run of the mill Indian restaurant then you'd best be sure not to miss out.

“Delish - A curry house that serves something a bit different.”
Reviewed March 11, 2013 via mobile

This place was advised to us by an acquaintance during a recent trip to Glasgow.
None of us had eaten in a Southern Indian restaurant before and the menu is a little different to your usual Indian menu - but in a good way. Give it a go you will not be disappointed!
As a group if 4, to start we skipped starters as we were off to a gig and didn't want to be weighed down too much.
For mains we all had a grill (meat, fish or veggie which was paneer) with a medium sauce, rice and a selection of 'breads' which were a bit like a cross between crepes and pancakes. Some thicker than others, some crispy and thin - one was HUGE and it added a bit of theatre to the meal and were very tasty.
All in all we would most certainly return and would recommend to others.

“Wheat and dairy free- a true delight”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Went here on Saturday early evening having read a few reviews from people with food allergies. The staff could not do enough to assist me with the menu and cater to my requirements. I had so many options and for once did not feel like 'the difficult' customer that I usually feel when eating somewhere new. Must give credit to the spice minced chicken dosa and the chicken dish with lots of tomatoes (it's easy to spot on the menu but it's name has escaped me) they really are something special.

Thanks for a lovely meal guys and we will be back without delay!

“Another great meal”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

We chose to eat at Dakhin on Mothers Day because most of the food on the menu is Gluten free and my adult son is Gluten intolerant.
We travel 30 miles to eat at this restaurant because the food is so good, the staff are very attentive and it is a very enjoyable experience, much better that any of our local indian restaurants.
We will be back soon.

“Our favourite Glasgow restaurant.”

We come here whenever we're in Gladgow. We split a vegetable dosa as a starter, and love the monkfish and lamb entrees. You really can't go wrong here.

“Curry with a difference”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Love the South Indian curry for a change. Great tasting food. Spinach paneer was excellent. All chicken and veggie dishes I've had there have been excellent. Also, massive prawns on the menu if you ask for them!
