We enjoyed lunch here two days in a row. Traditional Scottish fare at a very reasonable price, great beer selection, friendly service, and best of all - great pub atmosphere. It's also in a convenient city centre location. Haven't eaten in the restaurant upstairs because we couldn't get past the pub without stopping in. We felt very comfortable here. It's a bit inconvenient to have to use the Ladies next door and up the stairs, but you have to consider that they didn't use to have female clientele.

We were in Glasgow for one night on our way to Jura and found The Horseshoe down a side street. It is a classic Glasgow pub with one long continuous bar. There is a great range of beers and the food is excellent. Both the beer and the food are good value for money, especially after experiencing prices in London!, We were served by Debi who was a great host and nothing was too much trouble for her. Afterwards we went upstairs for the karaoke which was great fun, with several semi-professional singers blasting out some old favourites. If you are in Glasgow for a short visit I would recommend the Horseshoe.

Last night my daughter and I visited the horseshoe bar. We had been told it was a must do.,we're so glad we did. Colin, the bartender ,was amazing-extremely pleasant and helpful. His lady bar tender was also very friendly.Colin took our picture and very kindly told us about the bar and the surrounding area. The bar was full with Saturday night fun seekers. The beer was great but the camaraderie was just delightful. Thank you for a special memory!!

Always try to fit in a quick visit to the Horse Shoe when I'm in Glasgow. Good real ale, inexpensive menu (the pies are legendary), handy for watching football. The conversation is always the main thing though, and, despite the impressive surroundings, this still remains a local institution with a welcoming feel rather than a tourists' bar.
A good place to experience social imbibing in Glasgow at its best!

Fabulous food, service and friendly staff. A lot of locals seem to visit here, as do some tourists. A real Glasgow institution that you have to try. The scampi is delicious! Well worth a visit.
