“Wonderful service at last!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

After a fortnight in a not-so-great resort with a lot to learn on service and food - what a treat to eventually come here. This is a place that knows how to do service and food. No surpises I guess but still a treat! I don’t think you’ll get any bad food or cheap produce here, you can tell my looking at the menu. I had a set menu or pea soup/cod and mini cheese board and no complaints. I will go back at one point to do the a la carte, it looked very tempting but we only had a last minute 5pm booking and preferred to wait for an occasion to splash out. Bread waiter, wine waiter and a front of house to welcome/take coats etc – 5 star. Waiters know the menu inside out and were very well trained to the appropraite standard for this type of place . The place is very intimate, almost has a feel of a living room on entry, quiet atmosphere, perhaps too quiet for anything more than a low key meal as a couple or small group. (they have separate space downstairs for groups that I spotted on the way in). It’s the kind of place you want to contribute to the atmosphere by being relaxed and low key, taking in the food, wine and service. We went at 6pm on a Friday and it was a mix of couples/after workers and small groups arriving for an evening out - but all very subtly managed. For 3 courses off the 5pm menu, 2 glasses of wine and 2 x coffee (with handmade chocolate): about £60.

“fine dining at its best in Glasgow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at this restaurant and were extremely impressed with the ambience, the professional staff and the quality of the cuisine. The experience is unforgettable and I strongly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for quality and fine french cooking for a special occasion. My only misgiving is that the wine list was expensive and there no suitably priced bottles for people on a budget like myself.I would definitely return for another wedding anniversary celebration.

“Is this the best restaurant in Glasgow ?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

We ate at Brian Maule's recently. what can I say the food was very good, the service was excellent, the ambience was lovely. The staff were obviously very well trained and were always on hand to replenish your wine glass but there was something missing which I can't put my finger on. The restaurant was very busy and yet the service remained outstanding, therefore I am perplexed as to what troubled me. This said we would certainly return.

“Wonderful food, great service and nice atmosphere.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013 via mobile

We have visited the restaurant on a few occasions and it always impresses. Good for a bit of people watching if that's your thing!
The staff are attentive, polite and very efficient and the food tonight was very good indeed. They have a decent fixed price set menu which is ridiculously good value (3 courses for around £22) and although the a la carte menu may not be the largest there should be something to suit most. We were in quite early (we thought) but the restaurant was already busy so the atmosphere was good. The food was excellent: well prepared, well presented and the service (perhaps a little slow to get started) was good.
No complaints at all. Would highly recommend it.

We visited at seven o'clock on a Friday. Although restaurant was full we were given a star welcome. Snd that theme continued throughout the evening. From menu wine service toilets. We will definitely return
