“Amazing welcoming place”

WOW well very welcoming staff, very uplifting and jovial atmosphere. Beautiful settings, gorgeous old windows and wooden features. Great range of spirits! We had lunch there, chicken goujons with salad and chips, lovely fresh salad garnish! Would recommend this bar to anyone visiting Glasgow! Well worth the visit!
We will be back soon, maybe for the macaroni :-)

Just had a really tasty lunch, feeling quite full.

Love the booth seating, so relaxed.

The inside area of the bar is fabulous, great friendly vibe and so many original features to see.

Staff are all really nice, chatty and helpful.

Would definitely come back again for food and some lovely Malts!

Thank you :-)

“Food ok atmosphere really nice”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

Went to the griffin before going to the theatre. It was very busy but we where served quickly and did not have to wait to long for food. Depending your choice ie haggis or mince or sausage and mash all terrific. Chicken or fish served with chips not so good. Prices excellent and would eat here again

“Review #100”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

Booked the Function Room for my sixtieth birthday party.
The night was, by all accounts, a wild success and most of the credit for that can be laid at the feet of Robert and the bar staff who went out of their way to ensure that there was absolutely no hassle, snags or problems on the evening in question. The quality, and quantity, of the buffet was very impressive indeed and, all in all, I would have no hesitation about using this again, or highly recommending it, for other similar future functions.
I’ve been quite amazed at the number of attendees who have since been in touch, with me, trying to ascertain the provenance of those magnificent, and quite addictive, sausage rolls that were served up, on the night.
I’m afraid I don’t know, but assume they were made on the premises, perhaps The Griffin can comment and put us out of our misery!

Hi Tom,
Great function, (top music!)

We inject the sausage rolls with MSGs..always a winner!

Went for a meal prior to the Pantomime at The King's. Been in quite a few times for a drink but this was the first time eating. The menu contains traditional pub food and the quality was fantastic. The owner Joe is a typical Glasgow character and the kids love him. It is a pub so there is the usual collection of Glaswegian's in for a pint so don't expect it to be a Brewers Fayre but if your'e after a great meal in a lovely wee pub with real character, this is your place to go.
