“Excellent seafood and fish restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

During a recent trip to Glasgow my husband and I dined here on our final night, and it was definitely a highlight of our stay. Our meals were outstanding, I had the King scallops and my husband had the Hake. We both enjoy fish and seafood and whenever we are away we try to find somewhere where new to eat. Gamba turned out to be one of the most memorable meals of our 31 years of married life. I can only think of another 2 uk restaurants that we have been to that matched the quality of cooking. Fish and seafood can so easily be over - cooked, so is often a disappointment. But Gamba was cooking on a different level. My King scallops were absolutely top notch, flavours and textures just perfection. Even our side orders of fried potatoes and tomato salad were stunning. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We thoroughly recommend this restaurant, and thank Gamba for an outstanding evening.

“Good but not special”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

The food was undoubtedly good but nothing stood out as particularly special. There was little atmosphere and the staff were rather stiffly too formal, annoyingly filling our wine glasses at every opportunity - and at £21 the cheapest bottle, you can see why!

“Girls Christmas lunch @ Gamba”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2014

Had another fab lunch at Gamba- we meet every year there for our Girls Christmas lunch (3 Girls go for quality not quantity!). This year we all agreed the food was outstanding. I had monkfish and scallops cooked in paper and it was delicious. The other girls each had something different and couldn't fault any of it. Service was good and busy enjoyable atmosphere.

“Excellent again”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014 via mobile

Visited July 2011 and could not wait to return as here on holiday from N.Ireland. Was lucky to get a booking as fully booked new years eve and then closing for a few days. We ate from the pre-theatre as there at 6. Very good choice both starters delicious I had the smoked salmon with potato salad and my husband the duck and black pudding terrine. The mains were scrummy cod with smoked haddock on a lovely sauce and the salmon teryiaki with rice. The desserts of christmas pudding creme bulee and cherry bakewell were not like the usual version of these dishes but quirky fresh and really delicious to eat. The staff were all lovely especilly Joe. Many thanks and once again trumps to all involved.
