I have used china sea many times and like it for what it is, you are in and out before you know it. If you want a quick bite to eat at a reasonable price with no fuss this is ideal. The staff have always been very friendly and great with the kids. I have never had any complaints about the food. The rib and chicken wing starter portions are a bit on the small side but the mains are a reasonable size.
Not somewhere to go for a romantic meal but for a quick bite to eat 1st class. Overall I would say cheap and cheerful.

I have dined at the china sea many times over the years, and the food is consistently good. Its quite a hike up the stairs but you are always seated swiftly. Swift is descriptive of all aspects of the china sea. You are seated, ordered & eaten before you realise that you have not even got your jacket off. There are loads of staff and your plates are cleared quickly and your next course is in front of you before you know it.
For city centre dining the prices are good with some good lunch & tea time deals.
The decor has never changed in all the years i have been going. The theme being: the great wall of china and a giant dark & dusty paper mache dragon suspended from the ceiling. The wcs are probably the smallest i have over ventured into, the loos have bi folding doors and its difficult to access the small corner sink if someone is already in there.
The food quality and flavour remains high and i think if it were to undergo a de paper macheing make over it would cease to be the china sea that many glaswegians know and flock to time and time again.
