“Very enjoyable family friendly shopping in heart of Glasgow City Centre”
Reviewed July 2, 2006

Buchanan Galleries is a must see attraction for any visitors to Glasgow. Conveniently located between Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street, this indoor shopping mall has over 80 stores on 3 floors. Inside the galleries is unbelievably clean and family friendly. I have always found the staff most helpful and polite.

Here you will find a large selection of stores for all ages and interests, including electrical retailers, card/gift shops, clothes shops (Levi, Gap, H&M, Next, John Lewis, Quiksilver to name a few), mobile phone retailers, many accessory shops, console games, gadgets/gizmos, perfume, homeware, etc, etc. Check out their official website for a full list of all shops.

There is a very relaxed atmosphere, the temperature and air conditioning strictly controlled throughout the day, allowing for a very pleasant shopping experience for the full family. There is are some security guards located throughout the Galleries, but these are definitely not in your face and are very approachable. If you want to rest between shopping, then there are of course a number of seating areas located throughout the mall.

The top floor is where the cafes, snack bars and Burger King are located, aswell as the toilets.

There are 4 entrance/exit points to the Galleries – (1) leading out to Sauchiehall St, (2) leading out to Buchanan St, (3) the car Park (2nd Floor) and (4) an entrance/exit located at John Lewis, which will lead you directly across the road from Buchanan Bus Station.

Other “mall-type” shopping outlets which I would recommend in Glasgow are the St. Enoch Centre (walk straight down to the end of Buchanan Street, cross the road and it is on the left hand side) and the Braehead Shopping Centre, which is a short distance just outside the City Centre.

Of course, allow yourself plenty of time to also check out both Sauchiehall Street Buchanan Street and Argyle Street for plennnnty of more shopping – it is definitely worth taking your time you won’t be disappointed! Enjoy!
