“Very good”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

Stayed with my wife for 2 nights on 31st May and 1st June. Generally found Premier Inns to be the better versions of budget hotels and this was no exception. Well presented and clean public areas including bar and restaurant and all staff encountered were polite and helpful. Bedroom was standard Premier Inn double and was spacious and clean with usual facilities including Freeview TV, tea and coffee, hairdryer and 30 minutes free Wi-Fi. Bathroom was clean with bath and shower and only minor issues here was that shower wasn't particularly powerful and could have done with a handrail to help get out of the shower. Bed very comfortable with clean linen and had 2 very peaceful nights sleep. Had a snack in the bar which was served quickly and presented well. Hotel is only a few minutes walk from all city centre attractions and a less than £5 taxi ride to Hydro as we went to see a concert there. Overall, an enjoyable 2 night stay in a comfortable and clean hotel and represented great value for money at £79 for 2 nights.

The location of this hotel - just off George Square - is great for exploring the city center. The staff was friendly. Our room, on the street side of the hotel, had quite a bit of traffic noise, especially noticeable at night. Recommend you ask for a room on the inside of the hotel, away from the street. The room itself was clean, but be sure to bring your own shampoo - the only soap in the room was in dispensers, and the one in the shower didn't work. Other than the kettle for making tea or instant coffee, there were no amenities - reflecting the budget nature of the hotel. Overall, a good location and reasonable value for the money, just don't expect any extras.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street - on the cemetery side of the hotel - to reduce traffic noise.

I booked 10 rooms in this hotel for a family wedding. reception staff were very patient and helpful with everyone especially as we all checked in at different times. It was the Radio one weekend in Glasgow, so the area was more noisy than usual but did not disturb our sleep. Would recommend it as it is central for trains and shopping.

After a very unsatisfactory experience the previous evening with an overpriced upmarket hotel in Dunblane I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this budget priced establishment. The staff were friendly and informative, the public areas were clean and bright and our room was spacious and well appointed. I could find no fault with the accommodation but might quibble a little about the traffic noise from outside but then hey we were in the city centre on a Saturday night!
There is an NCP car park directly across from the hotel which should cost £17.30 per 24 hours but present your parking token at the desk on leaving and you will get the parking fee reduced to £10. We will be back!

Room Tip: Rear facing rooms look over a graveyard and would be quieter than those facing Montrose Street or Ge...

Poor nights sleep felt as if windows fitted poorly or poor standard of glazing. Room not as should be on arrival. Carpet on exit of lift level 2 lifted and dangerous. Housekeeping in lifts and carpets poor makes you feel in sub standard hotel and put me off eating or drinking on the premises. Reception staff very professional.

Dear Scottie083,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your guest experience with us. I am pleased that you appreciated the professionalism of our staff and I shall share your comments with them, as the feedback helps us to build exceptional teams. I am sorry that some of the fixtures and fittings made your stay feel sub standard; Premier Inn heavily reinvest in their properties and ongoing refurbishment plans are in place for the entire estate. Thank you for brining to our attention the carpet at level 2 lift exit; our maintenance team have been duly notified. I do hope you choose to stay with us again and try our bar & restaurant where you can experience more of our exceptional team.

Stayed in this hotel for one night only. It was only a quick city break but really couldn't have picked a better more convenient hotel. It is a great location from the city centre and all the amenities the city has to offer. The staff are very friendly and helped with self service check in. The room was a nice size, very clean and warm with very comfortable beds. Had a room near the road but there was no issue with road noise at all. Had breakfast the next morning which was nice and quiet although it was before the peak hour. Food was nice and had everything I wanted. Cannot comment on the dinner as ate out and not in the hotel. Overall a very nice hotel with friendly staff and a good location. If visiting this city again I would stay in this hotel and would really recommend it. It was a good price also.

Room Tip: There are steps up into the hotel so beware of that.
