Well planned building for getting the masses in and out quickly. Toilets build to hold as many people as possible without queues building up. Been twice now and would happily go again. Seats are fantastic. Better than plastic ones. A little bit of cusion on them but enough to keep you going though a full show. Leg room was not amazing but no where is.

People giving one star because other people stood up and blocked their view need to get out more. Or less should I say.

Just returned from another great concert in the Hydro. Status Quo were fantastic but the star of the show was the Hydro staff....we were seated on the floor level, when the concert started everyone stood up my mother in law had restricted viewing due to her being under five foot! One of the staff approached her and asked if she would like a seat higher up to give her a better view, they escorted her to the level behind us, brought her a chair and made sure she was ok. They then came back to us and asked if we wanted to move as well. I can't praise them enough for their thoughtfulness and kindness. I wish I had got the girls name!

I really liked the Hydro, coming from Belfast we could learn a trick or two on how a good concert venue could be run. The food and drink were very nice with a good selection and the staff were pleasant with no queing even with the large numbers attending. Clean girls toilets - very important haha. Pretty looking building from the outside, day and night.

this was our first visit to the hydro and was really looking forward to it .having been to many concerts at the old ssec and the sound there was never the best i was expecting state of the art sound at the hydro [nope]//.im sorry but for the money spent on this place you should be able to hear the artists clear as a bell to put it in easy terms the sound was mince .the old ssec was just as good [or bad] .someone said to me it was where i was sitting ok it was at the side of the stage on level 2 but its 2014 i should be able to hear the artists peeling an orange anywhere i sit in this so called super bowl .which is exactly what it is a concrete bowl the sound just goes up hits nothing but brick and metal then bounces around the place .what a shame because when you first go in its spot on plenty of bars and eating places no problem to get a drink ect a huge improvment on the last place but i went to see and hear a concert and left very let down what a waste of money/////

We visited for the first time recently to see Still Game. Thankfully we had to queue outside for a few minutes. I say thankfully, because it allowed time to take in the immediate views of the Hydro, Armidillo, SECC, Squinty, Science Centre and some of the historic buildings such as the Rotunda. The architecture is stunning and so diverse. Putting to one side the slightly low temperatures, we could have been in Barcelona or Sydney. If you don't believe me, take an evening walk around the area and remember your camera.

The venue itself is a fantastic auditorium with clear unhindered views across the entire space. Acoustics were really good too. Modern facilities with good food and drink venues to cater for the numbers. Ticket prices at £45 were ok and these seats were centrally located on the upper level.

I'd suspect this is one of the best venues in the UK for concerts now. I suppose this is backed up by the vast array of artists using it....go and see for yourself, even if it's just for a look outside, although night is best when the inflatable wall glow and change colour.
