We love this place, the quality of food & variety is second to none & service impeccable, A wee bit steep in price with £60 for three of us for afternoon tea, but as a treat once in a while, why not. Voucher deals make this more affordable for me. Keep up the good work folks :)

Me and my partner went for afternoon tea a few weeks ago, just getting round to writing this review now. The place is lovely and welcoming, as is Wendi, the owner. The afternoon tea was the most generous I've ever seen, with lovely sandwiches, savoury pastries and amazing home made cakes. Everything was freshly made and carefully selected to give the best variety. There was unlimited coffee, and prosecco with a strawberry. Lots of care has obviously been taken here. Take note, other places offering afternoon teas. We'll absolutely be back.

Really lovely afternoon tea & very atmospheric. Loved going back in time for afternoon tea! Pretty expensive for the afternoon tea unless you get a deal.

From the moment you walk in it's like a step back in time. 40's music playing on a vintage radio, a selection of 40's newspapers at each table and a selection of vintage paraphernalia decorating the tea room.

Excellent service, we were greeted with champagne flutes of fresh orange juice (would have been bubbly but my pregnant friend was along) a 3 tier cake stand jam packed with lots of sweetness and a plate of hot sausage and cheese rolls. Unlimited pots of tea in vintage china, we even had sugar cubes with tiny tongs (very authentic)

Once we had 'demolished' those we were presented with fresh warm scones with butter and jam - we were struggling at this point but managed to squeeze them in too.

All in all a great place with a fantastic atmosphere and amazing service

The huge proportion of "excellent" reviews for this tearoom have said it all in great detail and give a very fair assessment, so all we can do is agree wholeheartedly with all the positive comments about this quaint, interesting tearoom, the friendly service and lovely afternoon treats. The few inferior reviews on this site about the availability of meals are really very unfair - as it's name suggests, the concept for this place was to create a vintage tearoom, not a café or restaurant, and the owners have done it beautifully with imagination and flair. If you go expecting one of the afternoon tea options, or for tea/coffee and cake or scones, you will be delighted.
