Dont know where to start as everything was just brilliant. From the welcome from the owner Jackie, the gorgeous seasonal menu and the overall friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. i decided to treat the family to dinner as it was my brother birthday and due to my father ill health i didnt want to stray to far from home , this is where the dancing goat comes in as it is only a 10 minute drive and also we had just read the review in the herald. We were warmly welcomed from the staff as soon as we got in. the best way to describe the restaurant is quaint and eclectic, in otherwards a home away from home. The menu was well thought out and helped to show scotland best seasonal produce. i had the pork belly to begin which had beautiful stornoway black pudding in the middle of it, one word sensational. To follow i decided on the crispy duck leg, a dish i wished would never end. one thing i would like to point out is how much i disagree with the heralds review on the dessert as mine was beautiful presented with the flavour to match, definately no sign of artificial cream. Overall a great night had by all will definately return again and again.

We have eaten here three times recently. The menu changes frequently and each change brings new adventures. Prices are exceptionally reasonable. We thought the wines were of good quality and as reasonably priced as the food. The Dancing Goat is well worth a visit.

At last, a Restaurant worthy of the name in Neilston. Not renowned as the culinary capital of East Renfrewshire, the Dancing Goat will surely change that. I recently had a wonderful meal at a truely remarakable price. The original cafe has just started serving evening meals and has been an immediate hit. I had Ham Hough & Poached Leek Terrine served with a soft boiled quails egg for starters, followed by Seared fillet of Cod, Mussels, Saffron and Vegetable Broth and Warm Orange & Olive Oil Cake served with Lemon Curd ice cream and Blood Orange Syrup. All for the unbelievable cost of £16.95! Great cooking, well presented and a fantastic price which would make if affordable any day of the week.
Only criticism I would make is - upgrade the cutlery and napkins for the evening service - to make the change from cafe to restaurant.
