“Five Go To The Red Fort”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Though it had been a few years since one of the Five had last been in the Red Fort and based on his last experience it seemed only fitting to give it a try.
On entering the Restaurant we were warmly greeted by 3 members of Staff, the Restaurant itself was not very busy for a Friday evening, although the Carry out was doing a roaring trade. A pleasant enough dining room with the usual traditional Indian ambience.
Buffet was the order of the day and very soon were served up our usual Cobra Lager, that is all except one of the Five who likes his water. No shortage of Spicy Onions or Poppadoms in this establishment, the waiter kindly topped ours up at no extra charge, likewise with the Savoury Mixed Platter which was more than enough and no scrimping with the first class Chicken Wings or Pakora. The Buffet table did appear to be a little cramped in the corner of the room, however with the place being quiet, wasn't a problem to us. With all the favourites present and a couple of Red Fort specials, there was plenty to choose from. The Lamb dish was very good, tender and cooked to perfection, one of the Chicken Tikka dishes had a very interesting and tasty BBQ flavour to it, anyway it was very popular with the Five.
Ice Cream and Coffee to round off what was a very nice meal.
On the whole we found the Red Fort to be a enjoyable experience, the Staff were very attentitive, courteous and friendly, so would we go back...yes we would.

“Out of the way - but good meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

Overall an excellent meal let down by the most awful chutney tray to go with the poppadoms. Had a lovely chicken tikka chilli kerala with the best ever garlic nan I have ever had. My partner had the buffet which again was very good though there seems to be quite a regimented procedure to the way you get the buffet. Would be better if this was explained from the outset. I would certainly visit again - but would give the chutneys a wide berth.

“Consistently good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2012 via mobile

We enjoy the buffet at the Red Fort. Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the food. The buffet is a good way to try something different, something you might not order normally. We use the takeaway facility quite often and have never had a bad meal but a mid week buffet when the restaurant is quiet is my choice. Ask the staff if you are not sure about any dish. The Red Fort represents good value for money
