“Exceptional staff”

Really friendly, helpful and pleasant, I would stay again for that alone. Although it is an excellent location if you are in Glasgow to shop - hard to beat for the price. Premier Inn food is fine but I always go for the fish and chips - it was great, really hot and they phoned my room when it was ready I nipped down to collect it. They forgot the dessert but brought it up to the room.

Perfect for Glasgow city centre as the hotel is opposite the Buchanan Galleries shopping mall and Buchanan Street shops. Close to subway and Queen Street station as well as the bus station from the airport making it very easy to get to/from. Clean and modern inside and staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant quality average at best but there are plenty of options outside the hotel.

Fabulous experience from start to finish. Staff are very attentive and could not do enough for us. Gave us the feeling of staying at a more expensive hotel. Location is perfect. We will definitely return.

This is a remarkable hotel.

It occupies a superb central location right at the heart of the city centre next to the shops, theatres and wonderful architecture of Merchant city. It has all the usual Premier Inn advantages: spacious, comfortable rooms with good quality fittings, well thought out furnishings and surprising useful features - there's even a coat hook!

Rooms are spotlessly clean as you would expect, but what really sets this hotel apart are the staff, who are without doubt the most helpful and friendly I have ever come across. For example, we were queueing in reception to leave our suitcase in storage (we were second of only 2 people in the queue) when a passing waitress noticed us.

Despite the fact that she was in the middle of another job, taking some crockery away from the dining room, she immediately stopped what she was doing, put the crockery down and came to attend to us, so that we didn't have to wait even a minute longer than necessary.

One evening I called at reception only able to remember part of the name of a restaurant which had been recommended to us. Two minutes later the receptionist had identified the restaurant for us, telephoned and made us a reservation!

Absolutely top notch service, wonderful staff, great location and reasonable prices - what more could you possibly want?

Room Tip: The higher the better for terrific views over the city centre.

Others have raved about the high points of this hotel - the value, cleanliness, comfy beds, amazing location, etc etc. I agree with all of this and felt slightly taken aback at how central this hotel truly is. It's a shopper's dream and 2-3 minutes away from Queen Street Station where we'd come from through from Edinburgh. Security also seemed very good with swipe key points at entrance to hotel (after hours) and in lifts and doorways into hallways on all levels.

In terms of access, I found it very good and the hotel is generally spacious for turning corners etc. There's a small platform lift at the front door of hotel. I found this quite surprising for a brand new hotel but was quickly reassured by the efficiency of the lift (and it is obviously new). It's much better than the normal rickety platform lift I'm used to that allows wheelchair users to bypass 4-5 steps - which only seem to work 50% of the time. I found it quick and reliable but I do hope there's alternative wheelchair access into the hotel from another access entrance elsewhere if need be. Once up the platform lift you are serviced by three very fast lifts which is reassuring given that all three are unlikely to break at once.

Reception is spacious and customer service very good. I booked a wheelchair access room online a couple of weeks prior. I was disappointed to get into Room 301 and see that it had a shower over the bath. I went straight down to reception to ask if there were rooms with roll in showers. I was told that half of their disabled rooms are showers over baths and half are roll in wet showers because some people prefer a bath. He said next time to let them know my preference when booking. This irked me a little because I booked online and there was no option to choose between the two - I guess being disabled you always have to phone just to be sure, especially in busier peak seasons. The staff were very good and one guy personally went to check to see the room was suitable. We were put into room 801 on the 8th floor and it had fairly good views of the surrounding streets so we could see if shoppers had umbrellas up for rain/how busy it was. We were rained out all weekend but the hotel was so cosy and warm that it was lovely to return to after a soaking on the streets of Glasgow.

Other access related things I look for that were present: high toilet, good height mirrors, lowered sink, plenty of grab rails, good height shower seat, spacious bathroom for turning (bathroom was vast, more than enough room), actual bedroom spacious with desk and two chairs to set things on. Lower level hangers in wardrobe to reach while sitting, plug next to the bed (and many generally) and lots of space around bed for transfering. The bed was positively vast and you sometimes feel your other half isn't even there at some points they're so far away!

The only thing I can think of which was lacking was that the bed was quite noticeably low.

We didn't eat in the hotel as there are so many great places nearby but I saw the restaurant from the reception and it looked spacious enough for wheelchairs.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the view. Disabled travellers should specify whether they want roll...

Hi locokidloco

Wow what a fantastic review, thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us.

It is great to hear you were well looked after during your stay with us. The location is great, I hope you took advantage of the shopping (but not too much!)

I'm glad to hear we were able to fulfill your need for a walk-in shower. We have both the walk-in shower or bath over shower, but if staying again just drop us a line and we will be happy to request this room type for you.

The beds are low in all of our disabled rooms but we have a gadget where we can raise them to a more suitable height for you if need be, please let us know if you require this at any of our Premier Inn's.

Thank you once again

We hope to see you again soon

Warm Regards

Excellent location less than five minutes walk from Queen Street Train Station. In perfect location for all the shopping areas in the city centre(they start right outside the front door) and located in the same block as cineworld so not far to return to hotel late at night. The hotel itself is well maintained throughout with plenty of room in the family rooms and lovely big comfortable beds with well looked after bathroom. Was temperature control in room we stayed in which i greatly appreciate as dont like stuffy rooms. Brilliant views out over Glasgow (we were on 12th floor). Although located in heart of Glasgow did not hear any noise from outside and felt secure as you need a key to get past the reception. The breakfast was very good value for money and it was hot. The staff in all departments were friendly, welcoming and helpful. They asked at every opportunity how your stay was going. To be honest i have stayed in more expensive hotels this year but cannot say that i got any better service or comfort so well done Premier Inn I will be back.
