“very good value and location”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

booked in here for 2 nights total cost £38 we were on 7th floor there are 4 lifts and never had to wait long for lift. there was a little bit of noise from outside the hotel but no noise from inside. In the morning we did hear subway trains running under the hotel even though we were 7 floors up! The only fault we found was when checking inn took a long time next time will automated system also with premier inn some hotels take payment right away others pay on arrival. Plenty of wetherspoons about for cheaper breakfast would stop again.

We stayed at the newly opened Premier Inn, Buchanan Galleries. The hotel is perfectly located for both the bus station and train station and you're straight out of the hotel and onto Sauchiehall Street and Buchanan Street for shopping!!!

The room itself was spotless, couldn't fault anything. We didn't use the restaurant so can't comment, but the bar area was nice and comfortable and we thought, reasonably priced. The staff at this hotel were fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our stay so much, we have booked to stay here again, and I have to say that this will most probably be our hotel of choice when coming to Glasgow for a short break.

Room Tip: Our room was at the end of a corridor on the 9th floor - very quiet!

Stayed here last Sat / Sun night. Typical Premier Inn style and decor, so no surprises, but everything in excellent condition (it's only been open a few weeks which no doubt helps) and spotlessly clean.

Location is pretty much perfect - bang in the middle of the centre for shops if that's your thing, easy walking to Central Station, Necropolis etc, but didn't notice any extra noise because of it. There also may be one or two good pubs in the area. Not that I'd know about that sort of thing.

Staff were all enthusiastic, friendly and helpful - a real credit to the company.

Niggles? Just a couple. They never seen to have enough staff around for check in/out, so had to wait quite a while for both. To be fair to the staff, I've had this issue in a few different Premier Inns lately as they seem to be getting rid of Reception desks, and replacing them with a combination of Reception podiums and self service terminals. Secondly, there were delays at Breakfast both mornings - in getting seated and in waiting for food / cups / glasses etc to be replenished.

All in all though I would throughly recommend this to anyone stopping in Glasgow. We paid £29 per night for the room, which I think was fantastic value.

We got a bargain rate at the Premier Inn - £38 for 2 nights in one of their sales. We couldn't believe how good the location was - literally steps away from Buchanan Galleries and Sauchiehall Street. There's a car park with a special rate of £12 just a minute's walk away. The hotel is right opposite the Festival Hall too, which is great if you are seeing a concert. The room was immaculate, fresh and new. The views are great. Staff friendly and helpful. Our TV broke and the staff tried really hard to fix it - they even offered to let us move rooms - we weren't too bothered, there's plenty to do in Glasgow rather than watch TV!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor - the views are great and its quieter away from the street.

Only recently opened and having secured two nights for a total of just £38 this really was a bargain. Ideally suited for transport, shops and all the other amenities you need. We checked in automatically and were lucky to get rooms on the 17th (top) floor which offered splendid views looking west. Brand new meant we were seeing the room in almost new, pristine condition and everything came up to expectations. Our bath towels were removed but not replaced after the second night but was resolved with no problem. Front desk staff aren't really such, they are more like floor walkers. My only (small) criticism was no room card drop box and I had to wait for a member of staff to become free to hand them over. Security is good, you'll need your room card to work the lift above the 3rd floor and on the Friday night a security guard was present in the entrance at street level. Again we made no use of the restaurant or bars in the hotel as there were plenty of places in the immediate vicinity.

Room Tip: The higher up, the better the view

We stayed in the premier inn west Nile street
On the 7th November
And i must say that it was a lot better than i was expecting for a "budget hotel"
Clean room although there was a little noise (we were in a room right next to the entrance doors on the 5th floor) the noise was not to loud
The staff were all really friendly and accommodating (we had a new born baby with us )
And the staff always offered to help with the pram and holding lifts for us
So a big thank you to all in the premier inn when we next come back to Glasgow the first hotel i will be looking for will be yours

Location is fantastic for the west end of Glasgow and generally the hotel is very good, especially considering it had only been opened four weeks before I stayed. However, given that it is new there were some issues that shouldn't arise either. First and foremost, there was no hot water in the bathroom sink in the morning so I couldn't shave properly - the hot water worked fine for the shower though. Secondly, the WiFi was very poor - weak signal and low speed so getting some work done was slow and tedious. I expect better from a hotel that sells itself to business travellers.

Room Tip: Look for a higher floor as you are in the centre of the city in an area that stays busy late at nigh...
