“Best Premier Inn I've stayed in”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012 via mobile

I stayed here with my wife as we were attending a gig at the SECC. We booked it for £39, and it was a total bargain. The hotel has only been open for 4 weeks and it shows as it is spotless. You are in the doorstep for all the shops, and parking a 3 min walk across to the car park for £12 for 24 hours. Staff are very friendly, and check in is very speedy. All in all a fantastic hotel for couples or families

Stayed at this hotel last night, location is fantastic, close to everything you would want in Glasgow, rooms good size, hardly any noise considering you are in the heart of the city. Most of staff friendly and helpful except one cleaner, whom when we asked a question we were told "I don't speak any English" which I found odd considering we are in Glasgow! Water Supply packed in, in the morning which didn't help the shower/toilet situation, given the hotel has only been opened a month some teething problems are to be expected however I would appreciate being able to have a shower. More tea/coffee facilities in the room would have been appreciated.

Room Tip: 18 floors, if scared from heights pick a lower level

Excellent hotel situated in the heart of Glasgow. 100m from Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Welcoming staff, immaculate rooms, great value for money restaurant. Go for a 'Meal Deal' with dinner and breakfast.

Room Tip: Great views from upper floors.

This is a brand new premier inn only been open for 3 weeks.Stayed for one night for a girly shopping day.In an excellent location within walking distance of both train and bus stations.Rooms are very clean and modern.Very quiet you would not know you where in a very busy citycentre. Staff where all very helpful and polite.Had breakfast in the restaurant very good food and choice excellent.Security is also excellent key card has to be used for the lift so nobody who shouldn't be there will not get up to the floors, also security guard on the hotel door at night.Would highly recommend if on shopping or theatre trip. Will certainly stay here again.

This city centre Premier Travel Inn only opened on 1st October 2012. There are 15 rooms on each floor (from floor 3-18), with reception just being a couple of lecterns at the entrance to the restaurant on the 2nd floor. It is about 500m from Queen Street station (trains from Edinburgh) and next to the pedestrianised shopping street of Sauchiehall Street. There are also a couple of small Sainsbury’s stores close by, which stay open until 10pm for snacks & drinks etc. It is easy to find, both because of its size and the blue/purple lights the complete height. It is pretty standard Travel Inn apart from a couple of points. Firstly there seems to be a security guard on duty in the foyer at all times (handy for a city centre hotel) and the room key card is needed both to use the lift above the 2nd floor and to get from the lift to the corridors where the rooms are. Secondly there are no opening windows – presumably to keep the noise down. There is a single full height window of 1m width (see photo). The staff say there is air-conditioning but it seemed to me to be a standard room heater, with variable fan speeds and thermostat, dialling in temperatures between 19 and 28 degrees. I wonder if this will be a bit stuffy in the warmer weather. The website doesn’t mention air conditioning either! We were on the 15th floor and it seemed quiet enough other than the sounds of two-tone horns on emergency vehicles during the night! The restaurant was not too expensive, but there are so many eating places within a few minutes’ walk that we only ate there on our first night. The staff were, without fail, very friendly and helpful. We were able to leave our suitcases in their secure locker room on our last day. Some people find Travel Inns soulless and without character, and that’s probably true. I like them because I know I will almost certainly get a room that is clean & comfortable & quiet with pleasant staff. We booked in advance and paid £29 a night for a double room but this can more than double for late bookings.

My wife and I stayed for one night and loved it. We stayed on the 12th floor and the room was brand new and extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We went for the £22.00 dinner/all you can eat breakfast and enjoyed both meals very much. We were very well looked after by a young lad called Ryan and a couple of very personable young ladies. The hotel is very conveniently placed right next to the Royal Concert Hall and Buchanan Galleries shopping mall and would be ideal for an overnight stay after a show. We've booked a room for late December and we're looking forward to returning. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: 12th floor is excellent for views across the city and there's virtually no traffic noise.
