With a multi-storey car park attached to the rear of the restaurant, Shields Road Underground Station a mere hop skip and a jump to the front and Scotland Street running yards away, there is no difficulty accessing "Fish People".

Had lunch there recently. From the à la carte menu. Currently consists of seven option from each of the Starters and Mains. Totally fish. Perfect. We love fish. Well, the mussels were a tiny bit overcooked to be called "perfect" so they perhaps should be better described as very good, thanks to a spicy broth that acquitted them. The stand-out - that batter on the haddock was light, crispy and truly exceptional. The wine list is thankfully short but well chosen.

Around £25 per head for two courses with a large glass of wine. A quick lunch menu for £10 is also an option but did not try that.

Note: It is not visible in Google's Street View at this point in time but don't let that put you off. The restaurant really does exist!

Visited this retaurant for my mother in laws birthday and had a lovely lunch . The food was delicious and the staff where great. Mussels to start were fresh and tasty although a slice of bread to eat with the soup left would have been nice. Quite a small menu to choose from and wouldn't recommend if you are not a fish lover although the chip are top notch. Definetly worth a visit for fresh, delicious fish . Book before you go as there was a number of people turned away.

The Fish People Cafe on Scotland Street, not the most glamorous location for an excellent sea food "Cafe",but the journey is well worth it if you want a restaurant that stands out from the mediocrity of Glasgow's eating establishments.

The menu is small but fresh, which is no suprise since the fish comes from the fishmongers only a stone's throw from the restaurant.

The Loch Fyne salmon with pickled cucumber was first class, with the combination of flavours just perfect. My husband had the crevettes special, with very favourable comments coming back across the table.
Main courses followed a similar path of well thought of and well cooked dishes, the tandoori sea bass was excellent with just the right amount of spices to compliment the flavours for the fish. The fish pie was superb with plump chunks of fish and shellfish in equal amounts.

Desserts were simple and well made without being too "home comforting". Finishing off with well made coffee and excellent tablet.

The service was welcoming, genuine and professional.
The advice on menu questions/selections was informative without being pushy and recommendations were spot on.

As a retired restaurant owner of many years,it was refreshing to visit a new restaurant that prides itself on its food and service and does it on a consistent level.

Well done and keep it up

Ate here the other week, the food really tasty (had the cullen skint and the linguine), it was proper sized portions, i.e. not linguine with 3 bits of fish! my companions food was perfectly cooked and well seasoned aswell which.
Service was super - they were completely un-obtrusive whilst ensuring we had everything we needed, and were able to recommend a really nice accompanying wine.

Would definitely send people here in the future as I was more than pleasantly surprised and will be coming back.
