I really love this place for some healthy and tasty vegetarian tapas at a very reasonable price. After seven I think four tapas for ten pounds. We love the Aubergine and tempura and also tried the artichokes. However, I feel as on previous visits there wine is far too expensive by the glass.Any money you save on food will be negated by the hefty cost of wine.I will continue to visit and recommend.

I have been to the cafe at the CCA many, many times in its various incarnations and this is one of the best. The staff are attentive and the food is imaginative and really tasty. Great place for after work or for meeting friends at the weekend. The seating is a bit basic and you can feel a bit exposed if you don't get one of the side tables next to the walls. The meze is a good choice for lots of tasty treats, and the chips are fab.

My first visit to a vegan restaurant was pleasant enough. Enough choice for everyone in our party. Only quibble was certain items weren't available from the menu, and we weren't told of this before we ordered.

I have been to Saramago cafe a ton of times and each time has been great. Sometimes quiet, sometimes very busy. The food has been consistently great but the service can be a hit or miss. It is the same with many vegan places for some reason. Once you have a couple of drinks and your order has been taken, starters are delivered, that's all that is required of you. Asking for more isn't a problem, but don't expect anyone to look after your table once you have made your order. It seems your table is invisible as more people arrive and are to be seated. Empty glasses can mount up and no more drinks are offered but this doesn't happen all the time. There is one chap who is attentive as he can be and seems to be the only one who likes making people happy by going the extra mile. The CCA is by far the best place for service in a vegan setting however so no real complaints.

I have tried everything on the menu and that wasn't difficult for 2 reasons. 1 is that the food is great and delicious, (try the haggis fritters and paella) but also due to the limited unchanging menu that seems to be static throughout the year. It is very good but there just isn't that much to choose from after you try a few items which does become a little boring if you intend on coming back often. The Kale in garlic, ginger and soy sauce is lovely as well as tempura and spring rolls. All great and the prices don't seem to be too high. There are specials daily but it is mainly soups so if you fancied something out of the usual favourites then this won't happen. Still good but unless there are more items put on the menu, long term repeat custom doesn't look likely for some.

I do love this place that is actually more of a high end vegan place compared to others and is comfortable, relaxing, nice, inviting, great food, value for money and in a good if not tucked away location on Sauchiehall street. The staff are nice and friendly (when you approach them at the bar), and is a wonderful place to bring non vegans. There is also an art gallery in case I forget, but this is second to the food I'm afraid. Something I feel the curators didn't expect. Please go here and see for yourself!
