Description: We heard your cries, South Siders; we heard them as they echoed through the damp streets of Glasgow, all the way to Chillies West End.'Oh, for a curry that isn't swimming in grease...' You wailed.'Oh, for a carry-out that is honest in its claims of using fresh, high quality ingredients, and who prepares everything from scratch in house!' 'Oh, for an Indian that is authentic and flavoursome!' You lamented.'Oh, for take-away that delivers all of this and who still remains affordable enough to treat the whole family...'We heard your cries, South Siders, and we delivered. Delivering is, after all, what we do; fresh, authentic, tasty dishes from our immaculate, Chillies South Side branch straight to the doors of all our regulars every week. Why not drop in to spy on our talented Chefs in our open take-away kitchen? One taste of their creations, and we're certain you'll pop us on speed dial...

Worst customer care ever. It's a shame though as their food is good. I just can't stand in recession how people don't appreciate business. Pity the staff and owners

We decided to try Chillies (South side) for an Indian take-away after reading good reviews.

At the time of ordering we asked to pay over the phone as had no cash in the house but we were told they would send the driver out with a card reader machine. The driver parked in the middle of our one way street rather than parking properly and walking 20 yards. Unlike normal people when ringing a door he decided it would be appropriate to hold down the buzzer until we could get to the door (about 20 secs of constant ringing). With a sleeping baby in the house this was less than ideal! After a couple of minutes waiting in the hall way a large out of breath driver arrived. He had problems with the card reader not connecting and became increasingly annoyed. This was exacerbated by numerous stuck drivers beeping their horns. Again he was frustrated by the fact we had no cash despite us informing them of this when ordering. Eventually he decided to go park properly and would come back. 5 minutes later we were met again with 10 seconds of constant ringing at the door. Same problem occurred with the reader not connecting. Annoyed he left minus the curry saying we could pay over the phone (what we wanted to do initially!).

By this time the food was luke warm. The pakora, naan and popadoms were ok as was my Achari curry. Flavours were ok but there are better local options. My wifes Rogan Josh on the other hand was described as " a heavenly blend of tomato, onion and a host of spices". It literally tasted as if it was made entirely with Heinz's tomato soup.

The price is competitive, if not slightly cheaper than other local restaurants and the menu has a good range of choices. We had wanted to like this new take-away but it was let down by an unfriendly delivery driver and relatively disappointing food. We did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment upon the atmosphere or members of the serving staff. Following the meal we did pay over the phone and we were obviously dealing with a member of staff who was used to dealing with humans and was very pleasant.

This review focuses mainly on the delivery problems rather than the food. The driver is meant to however represent the establishment and he certainly does not colour them in a good light and although possibly no longer with Chillie's, he has left a lasting impression. In the future I would order elsewhere, pay a little extra, get a better curry and a "normal" delivery driver.

We regularly get take away from Chilies and it is always delicious, fresh, not too greasy and arrives quickly. A few weeks ago we got Indian food from somewhere else and totally regretted not going to Chillies! Veggie recommendations: Mattar paneer, sag paneer, veg biryani. Meat recommendations: keema mattar.

We ordered a curry/starters from here a while ago. Pure quality. Everything was very tasty and delivered in good time. Not too expensive either. They get a 4/5 as they forgot to give us the can of coke we ordered but I think they had been very busy that night.

I'd recommend it still.

Great food at a great price. The kebabs here are just brilliant and served on a nan bread with fresh salad. Delicious! Great service and some special offers and freebies too!
