“Great Location”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

Perfect location for getting around the city.

The rooms are very good, clean, spacious, comfortable beds.

Prices are comparable with other chain Hotels but the location is perfect, even get a view of the Clyde from the window.

We didn't eat in the restaurant, simply due to the fact there were so many other places to eat.But we did have drinks in the bar which was comfortable.

Two things I didn't like, being charged for WiFi and having to get ice from the bar to take to my room as they have removed the ice machines from their hotel floors.
But that aside if you want a good, clean and comfortable hotel with access to everything in the city then this is for you

I was welcomed by a pleasant young lady behind the counter and directed to my room, which I found better than the price would entail. I found the bar area on the ground floor very relaxing and peaceful while having tea and reading.

Stayed here for the World Pipe Band Championships as it was within walking distance to Glasgow Green and the city centre. First impressions were good, friendly, welcoming reception staff, had a bit of a problem when the receptionist couldn't find our reservation due to a spelling error with our surname but this was rectified quickly and without any hassle. We had two rooms on the 6th floor, one overlooking the river and the other overlooking Glasgow Central Station. The rooms were very well appointed, nice comfortable beds and very clean but I found the bathroom to be very small and there were no face cloths available either which I found very unusual.

We went down to the hotel bar after unpacking for a drink, this is where I was least impressed, the alcohol and bar snack prices were absolutely ridiculous! £5.50 for a bottle of cider and £2.00 for a pathetic container of peanuts, this is not a 5 star establishment so why do the management of the hotel feel the need to rip off their customers with 5 star prices?? It would have been far cheaper to go to some of the local bars but as we didn't really know that part of Glasgow very well, we just stayed there.

Anyway after having a couple of very expensive drinks and snacks, I headed off to bed, had to turn the air conditioning off halfway through the night as I couldn't figure out how to reduce the temperature and it was quite noisy. Got wakened in rather spectacular fashion the next morning by a train pulling into Central Station, the windows in the rooms on that side appear to be triple glazed but to be honest it doesn't really mask the noise of the trains that much.

Breakfast was fairly good and it prepared me for the busy day ahead. I ate in the hotel bar on the Saturday night because I was fairly late back from Glasgow Green and I didn't really want to have the hassle of looking for a restaurant at that time of the night. Again the prices were over the top but the food was very tasty.

In summing up, I would probably visit the hotel again because of it's central location to various amenities but I would be asking for a room overlooking the Clyde and won't be eating or drinking in the hotel unless they've done something about their pricing structure.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the River Clyde otherwise you'll be wakened by trains.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. I am really disappointed that your sleep was disturbed by noise. Our rooms on the station side are triple glazed to avoid these problems however there was clearly an issue on this occasion. Please feel free to contact me direct if you would like to discuss the matter further - barry_rowland@jurysinns.com. Regards, Barry Rowland General Manager

This hotel is situated on the river Clyde in the heart of downtown Glasgow. It is a modern, well kept hotel with all one expects from a leading hotel. However, it is also situated between the main street and the railroad station so people with rooms on the lower floors (till about the 4th floor) will have plenty of noise unless you keep the windows closed. The staff was helpful and the room spacious and fully equiped.

Room Tip: Take a room on an upper floor to avoid noise from the street or train station

Jury's Inn certainly exceeded my expectations of a very reasonably priced hotel located in the centre of Glasgow. The hotel was modern, extremely clean and comfortable whilst all the staff were beyond helpful. Breakfast had a mediocre selection of cooked food at £9 per person which was slightly over average although there is a Wetherspoon's restaurant a small walking distance down the road which I would probably eat at if I was to stay again.

This hotel is right in the city centre which is great. We arrived a bit early but were allowed to check in. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was nice. The only thing that could have been improved was the air conditioning we found it difficult to operate. Some instructions would have been of benefit.

My second stay here and found nothing to be concerned about, very big, very clean and very central. For the price though I would expect free WiFi, but all of these big hotel chains are now charging I believe?

Only a 5 minute walk from Glasgow Central Train Station.
